  • Patent number: 11487550
Abstract: Approaches in accordance with various embodiments provide for the management of system event data in a computing device. In particular, various embodiments provide an intelligent persistent buffer for system event log (SEL) messages. A SEL message can be generated by system BIOS on a computing device, which can send this message over an appropriate interface to a target recipient, such as the BMC. Instead of being received directly to the BMC, however, the SEL message can be received to a logic device, such as a CPLD, that is able to analyze the message, determine that the message relates to an important system event, and can cause this message to be stored to a persistent buffer. The BMC can then subsequently request the buffered SEL message from the logic device to take an appropriate action.

  • Patent number: 11431161
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for safe electric power delivery protection within a high-risk area while maintaining electric power availability in non-faulted areas. Fault signals from wireless sensors are used at a recloser to block reclosing onto a faulted high-risk zone. Fault signals from wireless sensors are used at a recloser to permit reclosing when the reclosing operation will not close onto a fault location within the high-risk zone. Portions of the power system may be selectively openable by sectionalizers. When a fault is reported by a wireless sensor as being on a portion of the power system selectively openable, a recloser may be permitted to attempt a reclose operation affecting the high-risk zone and the selectively openable portion.

Abstract: A control system may include a processor that may receive a first dataset associated with a current received at a load device coupled to a relay device. The processor may also determine harmonics data associated with the current and determine a switching profile to control moving a first armature of three armatures in the relay device based on the harmonics data. The switching profile is configured to control movement of the first armature between a first position and a second position, and wherein the switching profile comprises a firing angle for moving the first armature with respect to an electrical waveform, a second armature, and a third armature. The processor may then control a current provided to a relay coil of the relay device based on the switching profile, such that the relay coil causes the first armature to move.

Abstract: Circuits and methods for protecting against over-current conditions of switches are described. Over-current conditions can damage switches and the circuits they connect. Some embodiments of the present application provide a sense switch in parallel with the load switch. The sense switch is smaller than the load switch, and is used to sense an over-current condition of the load switch. The sense switch can remain on even when the load switch is turned off in response to detection of an over-current condition.
