Electromechanical Delay Means Patents (Class 361/202)
  • Patent number: 11148971
Abstract: A gas adsorption unit includes a getter, a package encapsulating the getter, and a low-melting member. The low-melting member is heated, and thereby melted, at a temperature lower than a melting point of the package to bond a connector including the low-melting member onto the package. Next, the low-melting member that has melted is cooled and cured. Then, thermal stress resulting from a difference in thermal expansion coefficient between the package and the connector is caused to the package connected to the connector, thereby breaking the package open.

  • Patent number: 10770881
Abstract: A system for automatic power outage restoration includes a conversion module, the conversion module receiving relay package input from an electro-mechanical relay package and executing code to convert the relay package input to readable output transmitted to an automatic outage restoration system. The conversion module is configured to receive the relay package input and determine whether a circuit breaker corresponding to the electro-mechanical relay package is opened manually. The conversion module is further configured to determine whether a non-fault scenario has occurred at the circuit breaker and determine whether a time from an opening of the circuit breaker has been more than a preset time.

  • Patent number: 10704293
Abstract: An electronic lock with a lock assembly that includes a bolt movable between an extended position and a retracted position. The electronic lock includes a motor configured to drive the bolt between the extended position and the retracted position. A controller is provided that is configured to control actuation of the motor to selectively move the bolt between the extended position and the retracted position. The electronic lock includes a user interface configured to output information about the electronic lock. A misalignment scoring means is provided for detecting interference to movement of the bolt between the extended position and the retracted position and determining a lock misalignment score based on the detected interference. The user interface identifies the lock misalignment score.

  • Patent number: 9580934
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments of lock devices, systems, and methods. A locking system includes a locking mechanism with a controller configured to provide an actuation signal to an electronic actuator to extend or retract a locking mechanism and to adjust an allowable peak current for operating the electronic actuator to throw the deadbolt based on whether the allowable peak current is sufficient for the locking mechanism to achieve its locked or unlocked positions. The allowable peak current can be adjusted over time between a minimum and maximum peak current, thus optimizing the actual current draw from the electronic actuator required to throw the locking mechanism and minimizing power consumption.

  • Patent number: 6201676
Abstract: A hydraulic time delay device couples to a fault-sensing element in a circuit recloser. The time delay device includes a piston that has an external connection and is operable to move through a housing in the device to cause hydraulic fluid in the housing to flow out of the housing and into a passageway. The time delay of the time delay device corresponds to a time required to move the piston. A first adjustable orifice is formed the passageway to define an adjustable first fluid flow path through the passageway. An adjustable valve is positioned to provide an adjustable second fluid flow path through the passageway. A second adjustable orifice is formed in the passageway to provide further adjustment of the second fluid flow path. Adjustment of the first orifice, the valve, and the second orifice affect the time required to move the piston.

  • Patent number: 5880954
Abstract: A safety-related control system (SRCS) designed to safeguard personnel operating hazardous production equipment. The SRCS integrates the safety-related part of a machine into one homogenous system for the purpose of increasing safety. In so doing, the SRCS monitors the machine, the operator, and itself for safe operation. The SRCS utilizes a non-material barrier to sense the intrusion of a person's body into a hazardous area of a machine. The SRCS uses machine feedback and/or operator interface to determine whether a hazardous condition is present. If such condition is present, the hazard is rendered harmless by the time the intruding body member can reach the potential danger area. The system includes separable means for stopping motion of the moving parts of the equipment, starting movement of the movable parts, and detecting faults in sections of the system.

  • Patent number: 4366366
Abstract: A stand for an electric iron incorporates an automatic time delay safety switch arrangement which reduces the chances of fires being started by an unattended iron and serves to save a substantial amount of electric energy by cutting off the current to the iron when it is left turned-on but unattended. The stand includes a hinged, spring biased platform of insulating material for supporting an electric iron during non-use periods. Placement of the iron on the platform causes the platform to pivot closing a normally open switch. Closure of the switch energizes a standard electrically energized time delay relay mounted on the platform. After lapse of a predetermined time period, the time delay relay actuates a manually resettable electric relay from a first condition allowing the electric iron to be energized from a power supply socket on the platform to a second latched condition whereby the iron is deenergized.

  • Patent number: 4276631
Abstract: An electronic timer having two electromagnetic relays is disclosed. The two electromagnetic relays are mounted on an insulating base plate. The electronic timer further comprises a delay circuit. At least one of the two electromagnetic relays is connected to an external power supply through the delay circuit. These two electromagnetic relays may be connected in such a manner that when connected with an external power supply, one of them is operated instantaneously while the other is actuated after a delay time, or in such a manner that both of them are simultaneously operated after a predetermined delay time, or in such a manner that they are operated after different delay times.
