Two Position (e.g., On-off) Patents (Class 361/241)
  • Patent number: 9250279
Abstract: A measuring system for measuring signal characteristics on a node is disclosed. The measuring system includes a contact measuring unit including a probe for contacting the node to fetch a signal on the node, an output interface, a plurality of capacitors coupled between the probe and the output interface where a capacitance of each capacitor corresponds to a frequency range, and a protection circuit, of which one terminal coupled between the probe and the output interface and the other terminal coupled to a ground terminal, and a frequency analyzer coupled to the output interface for displaying information of amplitude vs. frequency of a signal outputted from the output interface to measure the signal characteristic on the node.

  • Publication number: 20080291597
Abstract: A method of one aspect may include monitoring movement of a scanning beam image acquisition device. Images may be acquired with the scanning beam image acquisition device using a first image acquisition mode when the monitoring indicates that the scanning beam image acquisition device is moving. Images may be acquired with the scanning beam image acquisition device using a second image acquisition mode when the monitoring indicates that the scanning beam image acquisition device is substantially still. The second image acquisition mode is different than the first image acquisition mode. In one aspect, the first mode has a relatively higher frame rate and relatively lower number of lines of image resolution than the second mode.

  • Patent number: 6940704
Abstract: A light emitting diode (LED) including a combination of features that enable the LED to produce a high-brightness predetermined radiation pattern. The combination of features enable the LED to function cooler and more reliably at a higher drive currents and elevated ambient temperatures, and therefore emit light of increased brightness, without overheating, and to have a particular radiation pattern. In particular, a surface mount that is capable of operating at high drive currents and high ambient temperatures is disclosed. The LED comprises a surface mount package having a metal lead frame having mass sufficient to provide low thermal resistance, at least one anode contact pad and at least one cathode contact pad. The LED also includes a reflector positioned within the package, a semiconductor die and an optional focusing dome.

  • Patent number: 4398231
Abstract: This is concerned with a solid-state electronic brush speed sensing control for sensing the rotational speed of the brush in a vacuum cleaner, either of the canister or upright type, so that as the brush slows down or stops due to being jammed or partially jammed by a foreign object, such as a sock or the like, the drive motor will be disconnected from its source of power thereby protecting the brush, the motor, the belts, etc.

  • Patent number: 4209816
Abstract: A protective control for the starter and electrical systems of a motor vehicle, including a main relay for controlling the electrical system, and a starter relay for controlling the starter system. Electronic logic is provided for the electrical system which: (1) prevents energization of the main relay if the battery polarity is reversed; (2) if the battery polarity is correct, turns on the main relay when a master switch is closed; and (3) maintains the main relay in an ON condition when an AC signal from the alternator is sensed even if the masterswitch is subsequently opened. The latter prevents disconnection of the battery from the electrical system while the engine is running.

  • Patent number: 4168516
Abstract: A speed switch control comprising a subfractional permanent magnet AC generator generating an AC signal varying in amplitude with saft speed variations; the AC signal is rectified and compared with a regulated DC reference to generate first and second threshold signals indicative of shaft speeds over and under a critical value. A switch actuator circuit develops "on" and "off" switch actuator signals, from the threshold signals to actuate a two-terminal solid state switch between on and off conditions; the "off" signal is continuous but the "on" signal is a high-duty-cycle semi-continuous signal including brief recurring "off" intervals. A power storage/supply circuit, connected in parallel with the switch terminals, which recharges during switch "off" intervals, affords the power supply for the threshold and switch actuator circuits.

  • Patent number: 4086647
Abstract: A speed-switch control comprising a multi-pole sub-fractional permanent magnet A.C. generator driven by a shaft; the generator develops an initial A.C. signal having an amplitude representative of the shaft speed, and that signal is applied to a threshold circuit where it is rectified and compared with a threshold amplitude correlated with a critical shaft speed range to generate a D.C. switch actuation signal. The D.C. switch actuation signal actuates a solid-state switching circuit to switch a controlled load, such as a safety interlock or alarm, into and out of an external operating circuit.
