    Abstract: An electrode is provided that is adapted to both pierce a barrier and providing an over-air discharge of electrical energy. In this regard, an over air discharge of electrical energy may be provided to an opposing side of a barrier. In one arrangement, the electrode includes a tapered point, which may be a hardened material, to facilitate piercing a barrier. In a further arrangement, the electrode incorporates an insulative shaft. In this arrangement, the insulative shaft electrically isolates a conductor of the electrode from a conductive barrier. Accordingly, the electrode may be utilized to pierce metallic enclosures and provide an electrical discharge for the purpose of altering the operation of electronic device within such enclosures.

Microspring interface members are formed on the contact structure pressed against the cables to provide interface arrangements that are smaller than a wavelength of the transmitted signal. A connector apparatus uses a cam mechanism to align the cables, and then to press the contact structure, having the microspring interface members formed thereon, against the cables. An alterative contact structure uses anisotropic conductive film.

    Abstract: A porous ceramic heating reactor is positioned within a tubular casing to contain the flame and the end products of combustion. A flattened portion of the casing extends substantially past the reactor to provide for further transfer of heat through the casing wall from the hot exhaust gases and to carry those exhaust gases to a safe point of exhaustion. The unit is essentially modular so that any number can be selected for an installation. The casing configuration enhances turbulent flow of the hot gaseous products of combustion. Turbulent flow increases heat transfer to and through the walls of the casing to the boiler or other area to be heated. The size and shape of the tubular casing provides an explosion proof, leak proof, efficient heat transfer device. Each reactor has a spark plug one of whose elements is a bi-metallic strip. In a multi-unit installation the spark plugs are connected in parallel across a spark generator.
