Abstract: A flame producing assembly includes a body housing a piezoelectric ignition device, an extended wand extending longitudinally from the body and electrically coupled to the piezoelectric ignition device, and a helical spring extending longitudinally within the extended wand. The piezoelectric ignition device is operable to produce an electric charge. The helical spring includes a first end portion and a second end portion. The second end portion is a diffuser.
Abstract: A first via and a second via pass through a layer of a multi-layered circuit board. A first set of electrical transmission line segments, each having a first thickness, is aligned at a first area on the layer between the first and second vias. A second set of electrical transmission line segments, each having a second thickness that is greater than the first thickness, are aligned at a second area that is offset to the first area and to the first and second vias. The first set of electrical transmission line segments is connected to the second set of electrical transmission line segments to form an electrical transmission line, which has an average impedance that matches a line impedance of a uniform thickness line.

Abstract: An interconnect includes a pad and at least two vias coupled to the pad. In one embodiment, the pad has five substantially straight edges, one via directly coupled to the pad by being formed substantially beneath the pad, and one via coupled to one of the five substantially straight edges by a tapered conductive segment. In another embodiment, the pad has three vias directly coupled to the pad and formed substantially beneath the pad. A method of forming an interconnect includes forming at least two vias in a substrate and coupling a pad to each of the at least two vias.
Abstract: A structure of and method for producing a multilayer printed or wiring circuit board, and more particularly a method producing so-called z-axis or multilayer electrical interconnections in a hierarchial wiring structure in order to be able to provide for an increase in the number of inputs and outputs (I/O) in comparison with a standard printed wiring board (PWB) arrangement, and a printed wiring board produced by the method.

Abstract: An electric arc lighting device for igniting inflammable products. The device comprises a direct current supply source and an oscillating unit constituted of a first inductance and an amplifying circuit connected in parallel with the supply source. The unit is adapted to generate an oscillation at a given frequency. A second inductance is connected in series with electrodes spaced one from another and between which the electric arc is produced at the given frequency and under a voltage induced in the second inductance by the first inductance, the first and second inductances being wounded around a same core.
