Patent number: 8862278Abstract: An electronic system employs multiple power supplies that provide electrical energy to components of the server system. Each power supply exhibits or experiences a uniquely different air flow within the system chassis. Different air flows correspond to different component temperatures for each power supply. Each power supply stores a collection of selectable thermal profiles that determine cooling element control within the power supply. Each thermal profile may correspond to a different physical location within the system. Thermal profiles provide each power supply with local environmental response correlations, such as between local power supply temperature and cooling fan speed. The power supply selects a particular thermal profile in response to determining the power supply's physical location in the system. The power supply instructs the cooling fan to provide an amount of cooling dependent on both the selected thermal profile and a sensed local environmental condition such as temperature.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2013Date of Patent: October 14, 2014Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Jen-Ching Lin, Randhir Singh Malik

For example, the phase-A breaker unit includes breakers connected in series in a horizontal first direction, disconnectors annexed on the breaker, disconnectors annexed on a breaker, and disconnectors annexed on a breaker. The disconnector is connected to a main bus that extends in the first direction, and the disconnector is connected to a main bus that extends in the first direction. Each of the disconnectors on the breakers is arranged while a longitudinal direction thereof is set to a second direction orthogonal to the first direction so that a switching direction of the disconnector is equal to the second direction. Thereby, the length of the main buses can be shortened, and an interphase distance and a breaker-to-breaker distance can be reduced.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2009Date of Patent: December 10, 2013Assignee: Mitsubishi Electric CorporationInventors: Shinichiro Nakauchi, Osamu Kisanuki

Patent number: 8570714Abstract: An electrical distribution panel includes a panel box locating a ground bus in electrical connection with a ground input lug, a neutral bus in electrical connection with a neutral input lug, and a primary power bus connected to a power input lug through a main breaker switch. The main breaker switch is operable between an on position in which the primary power bus receives power and an off position in which the primary power bus is disconnected. Primary circuit breakers can be supported in the usual manner in connection with the primary power bus. One or more auxiliary circuit breakers are connected to the power input lug to receive power independently of the main breaker switch. An electrical outlet can thus be integrally supported in one of the side walls of the panel box to receive power independently of the main breaker switch.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 2011Date of Patent: October 29, 2013Inventors: Christopher A. Patent number: 8564964Abstract: Bus bars each having on one side a terminal portion for connection of an electrical component and on the other side a terminal portion for connection of circuit board are provided in an insulating block body parallel to each other to constitute a busbar block. The bus bars are prevented from uplifting by virtue of a rib integral with the block body. Recessed portions for positioning are provided in an insulating cover corresponding to the ribs, and at the same time as the busbar block is attached to the cover, the ribs are brought into engagement with the recessed portions to provide positioning of the busbar block. Terminal block constructed by terminals each having on one end thereof a terminal portion for connection of an electrical component and on the other side thereof a terminal portion for connection of circuit board, and an insulating block body holding the terminals.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2008Date of Patent: October 22, 2013Assignee: Yazaki CorporationInventors: Akinori Nakashima, Hiroki Shiraiwa, Kazuomi Kiyosue, Tomohiro Sugiura, Noriyoshi Yamazaki, Minoru Umezaki
