A heat sink member has a guide member and a body, wherein the guide member is slidably engaged with a groove defined in an inside of either of the two sidewalls is able to be pivoted about the guide member in a limited angle so as to adjust a gap between the inside of the sidewall and an inside of the heat sink member. The electronic part is clamped between the inside of the sidewall and an inside of the heat sink member. The front and rear sides of the electronic part are in contact with the heat sink member and the sidewall so as to efficiently dispense the heat.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2006Date of Patent: April 15, 2008Assignee: Cotek Electronic Ind. Publication number: 20070230094Abstract: A portable, temporary power distribution system is contained in a fully integrated, reusable container, and is particularly useful in temporary applications, especially as an alternative power distribution system. The portable system provides comprehensive functionality for all aspects of a power system, and any adjuncts thereto. The portable power distribution system is fully integrated, and can include, for example, low voltage capability, emergency lighting control, communication, power allocation control and circuit protection, as well as any other protective or control feature that is used in a permanent power distribution system for virtually any installation.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2007Publication date: October 4, 2007Inventor: Curt S. Patent number: 7224578Abstract: A control panel for a portable electric generator. The control panel includes three distinct zones having logically organized switches and outlets. The first zone includes those switches used most frequently. The second zone includes a plurality of 120 VAC electrical outlets and at least one 120/240 VAC outlet. The 120 VAC outlets are separated from the 120/240 VAC outlet by a horizontally arranged, rocker style voltage selector switch for selecting either 120/240 VAC or 120 VAC operation. A third zone includes an auto throttle control for controlling an engine of the generator. The placement and organization of the switches and electrical outlets within clearly defined zones reduces the possibility of the operator unintentionally selecting the wrong outlet for use or unintentionally selecting the wrong switch.Type: GrantFiled: August 9, 2004Date of Patent: May 29, 2007Assignee: Black & Decker Inc.Inventors: John E Buck, Peter E Morris

Patent number: 7180729Abstract: The invention is to create a n arrangement for controlling and monitoring a switching installation which can be produced in a relatively cost-effective manner. To this end, the arrangement comprises a station control computer system into which the functions of at least one process control appliance and at least on protective appliance are integrated. Furthermore, the arrangement also comprises devices used to digitally control switches of the switching installation and comprising digital inputs and outputs, and an electronic conversion system arranged close to the switches and provided with digital outputs. The digital inputs and outputs of the devices for digital control and the digital outputs of the electronic conversation system are directly connected to the station control computer device by means of communication connections.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2003Date of Patent: February 20, 2007Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Gerhard Lang, Gerhard Stich

Patent number: 7170468Abstract: A section of a housing on a portable computing device is removed or folded away, thereby exposing a free edge of an LCD screen as well as electrical (data and power) connectors and structural connectors. Connectors are placed symmetrically across the exposed edge whereby a male connector on one side mates with a female connector on the other device. Two such devices are physically pushed together, with locking catches securing the two devices together. Upon docking, the two devices recognize the new configuration and re-map the desktop area of the display into a single display for the combined device. In a preferred embodiment, either a top edge or a side edge is selectively exposed independently on the same device, to mate two devices in either a portrait or landscape orientation.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2001Date of Patent: January 30, 2007Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventor: Eric Andrew Knopf

Patent number: 7113400Abstract: A housing for enclosing an electronic control unit is constructed of a resinous cover and a metallic case having heat conductivity higher than that of the resinous cover. An air intake module is mounted on an engine inside an engine compartment. The air intake module forms an air passage through which air flows from an air inlet toward the engine. The electronic control unit is mounted on the air intake module such that the metallic case is exposed to the air passage in the air intake module and the resinous cover is exposed to the outside of the air intake module, that is, exposed in the engine compartment.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2003Date of Patent: September 26, 2006Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Yoshihiro Nagata, Hiroshi Kondo

Patent number: RE41194Abstract: A switch guide located between a pair of switches on a computerized bicycle control panel is disclosed for guiding a bicycle rider's thumb to a proper switch on a bicycle handle bar. The switch guide is preferably a protrusion dimensioned to be detected by the bicycle rider's thumb. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the height of the switch guide is greater than the height of the switch. In an alternative embodiment, the height of the switch guide is greater than the height of the switch, when the switch is activated. The switch guide is located in sufficient proximity to the switches to allow the rider's thumb to access one of the switches by moving the thumb to one side of the switch guide and the other switch by moving the thumb to the other side of the switch guide.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2004Date of Patent: April 6, 2010Assignee: Shimano Inc.Inventors: Naohiro Nishimoto, Takuji Masui
