  • Patent number: 8794782
Abstract: A lightweight plastic baton includes a hollow cylindrical body which telescopically supports a flexible cylindrical plastic baton shaft. One or more slideways support and concentrically center the baton shaft within the hollow body. A flashlight having a strobed light operating mode is coupled to the baton body to provide a less than lethal deterrent to a potential assailant. A radially movable elastic switch cover is mounted substantially flush with the outer surface of the flashlight to prevent inadvertent actuation of one of several selectable flashlight operating modes.

Abstract: A walking cane is provided having an elongated length, a handle grip, a forward-directed illumination source, and an ambient light sensor. The device provides a cane-user with forward illumination during twilight and dark periods, whereby the ambient light sensor operably energizes the light source when in an appropriate operational mode. A secondary mode allows the user to manually operate or deactivate the light source by hand controls, wherein each option is selectable from a three-way switch at the base of the handle grip. The length of the cane may be adjustable and its structure may take on an ergonomic shape, while the lower distal end is capped with a cane ferrule.

  • Patent number: 8696149
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improvement in the structure of luminous umbrella, using integrated illumination components. The components are ideal for luminous umbrella particularly designed to be used in the evening when visibility is poor, and can be used for other decoration purposes. The integrated illumination components of the present invention are constructed by combining illumination emitter of LED with bases of parts of umbrella, such as linkage members on slip ring, rib members on fixed collar and umbrella handle. When the illumination emitter of LED is mounted on the surface of these parts, the overall umbrella structure can be made smaller and lighter, and the flexibility of light source design can also be maximized. In particular, when base parts with high heat dissipation capability are used as the heat dissipating fins, the full performance of high-brightness illumination emitter of LED can be achieved. The integrated illumination components offer another advantage.

Abstract: The walker with integrated illumination means and alarm wires an alarm and lights into at least one side of a walker. The alarm includes a panic button located adjacent onto of the handles, and upon depression shall signal an alarm via a speaker located elsewhere on said walker. The illumination means includes at least one light that is operated via an on/off switch located adjacent one of the handles. The walker with integrated illumination means and alarm may be of foldable construction or a wheeled construction. An embodiment may include illumination means located and operated on a left side of said walker, whereas another illumination means is located and operated on a right side of said walker. The illumination means and alarm are portably powered, and increase the overall weight of the walker by a negligible margin.

  • Patent number: 8573795
Abstract: A warning lamp has a first assembling member, a second assembling member, a clamping space, an illuminating unit and a battery unit. The first assembling member is pervious to light and has a concave clamping section. The second assembling member is detachably and securely connected with the first assembling member and has a concave pressing section. The clamping space is formed between the pressing section and the clamping section and is capable of receiving a bar. The illuminating unit and the battery unit are securely mounted in the first assembling member. Because the second assembling member is detachably and securely connected with the first assembling member, the warning lamp can clamp different objects at different positions of the objects.

  • Patent number: 8556446
Abstract: An attention getting baton with a one-piece hollow tubular structure that is waterproof, shock resistant, and lightweight. At a rear tubular part, there is a holding compartment with a ribbed rubber grip for ease in handling the baton. A front tubular part with ribbed groves guides illumination through the baton. A tubular shaped removable rear cap forms a slip fit connection for accessibility into the holding compartment. A high intensity flashlight, inserted into the holding compartment, communicates a high intensity light beam through the baton. When pushed, a button, mounted to the rear cap, switches the flashlight into a plurality of modes such as an on/off mode, a strobe mode, and a mode to generate help or an SOS signal. Thus, the baton has applicability to fire scenes, traffic and crowd control, police operations, military procedures, search and rescue operations, event parking, or just personal use.
