Patent number: 4392186Abstract: A key handle comprising a housing for securement to a key. The housing has a base and a cover member defining an internal chamber therebetween. A switch member is retained in the chamber and has flexible guide means to position a first terminal of a battery in the chamber against a contact element in electrical contact with a first terminal of a lamp retainable in the chamber to direct light outwardly of the housing in the direction of the key. The flexible guide means further biases the battery and a second terminal of the battery away from a further contact element in contact with a second terminal of the lamp. The switch member has an actuable portion accessible from the exterior of the housing to displace the battery against the flexible guide means whereby the second terminal of the battery is positioned in electrical contact with the further contact element to cause an electric current to flow through the lamp and cause it to light.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 1980Date of Patent: July 5, 1983Inventor: Avi Cziment

Patent number: 4276582Abstract: A key incorporating a miniature light source in a handle thereof, is disclosed. A key body member comprises a substantially elongated first portion and a second portion disposed in an angular relationship to the first portion. The handle of the key comprises a retainer member which incorporates a channel adapted for slidably receiving and retaining the second portion of the key body member. A locking member, comprising a part of the handle, is adapted for interfacing with the retainer member and for removable attachment thereto. A tab protruding from the locking member is disposed adjacent to an opening of the channel thereby locking the key body member into the assembled structure. A suitable cavity is provided within the handle member for operative mounting of a miniature power source, a miniature light bulb and a pressure actuated switch.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 1978Date of Patent: June 30, 1981Assignee: Lock Light CorporationInventor: John Burnett

Patent number: 4247753Abstract: A battery operated portable thawing device for frozen locks has an electrically heated thawing stick sized for insertion into the key hole of a frozen lock. The stick is thinner than the lock key and comprises a hollow metal body inside which is located a thin resistance heating wire. The resistance wire is located between the middle and the end of the stick inserted into the keyhole in a relatively short length (20-30%) of the thawing stick. For use, the stick is slidable out of a protective housing adapted to be gripped in the hand. The housing carries a battery for energizing the stick and a light bulb for illuminating the keyhole. The metal body of the stick serves as one terminal for supplying current to the resistance wire. The circuit between the battery and resistance wire made automatically made when the stick is moved out of the housing for use and broken when the stick is returned into the housing.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 1978Date of Patent: January 27, 1981Inventor: Niilo Jaronen
