Abstract: A wavelength conversion member includes: a heat conducting layer; a sapphire substrate having a third surface directly contact with a second surface of the heat conducting layer and the fourth surface opposite to the third surface; and a phosphor layer having a fifth surface directly contact with the fourth surface and a sixth surface opposite to the fifth surface, the phosphor layer including phosphor. At least one of an area of a first surface and an area of the second surface of the heat conducting layer is at least 2800 times as large as an area of the sixth surface of the phosphor layer. At least one of an area of the third surface and an area of the fourth surface of the sapphire substrate is at least two times as large as the area of the sixth surface of the phosphor layer.
Abstract: An illuminated makeup mirror set includes: a mirror unit; a surface light source with adjustable color that is used to illuminate a makeup subject; a setting unit for setting illumination conditions with the surface light source according to an input operation; an adjustment unit for adjusting color and brightness of the surface light source according to the illumination conditions set by the setting unit; a speaker; and a playback unit that stores a plurality of musical pieces as data, plays a musical piece selected from the plurality of musical pieces according to the illumination conditions and time of illumination with the surface light source, and causes the speaker to output the selected musical piece as a reproduced sound.
Abstract: A first frame has a top edge and a bottom edge, and a left edge and a right edge, and an exterior face and an interior face. A first picture is on the exterior face of the first frame. A second picture is on the interior face of the first frame. A second frame has a top edge and a bottom edge, and a left edge and a right edge, and an exterior face and an interior face. A first mirror is on the interior face of the second frame. A support leg is pivotably supported on the exterior face of the second frame for resting the system on a horizontal counter top.
Abstract: An illumination system, in particular for illuminating tiled wall protrusions, includes at least one elongate, substantially U-shaped profile that has a base arm and two side arms projecting from the latter and arranged lying opposite one another, the first side arm being made longer than the second arm, at least one illuminant that is fastened or can be fastened within the receiving space defined by the base arm and the two side arms of the profile, and at least one elongate diffusion disc cover fastened or that can be fastened to the profile.
Abstract: A combination mirror and media display device assembly is provided. The combination mirror and media display device includes a mirror platform having a media display device viewing area and a media display device coupled to the mirror platform. The media display device is positioned to display images through the media display device viewing area.

Abstract: Disclosed is a process of determining, at a point during shipment, whether the solid phase refrigerant in a shipment is sufficient to preserve the shipment cargo, which is blood or other biological products, for the remaining shipment period, by: monitoring the temperatures encountered to said point and estimating the temperatures likely to be encountered during the remaining shipment period; determining the likelihood that the remaining refrigerant can maintain the shipment cargo within a specified temperature range during the remaining shipment period; and if the risk that the remaining refrigerant cannot maintain the shipment cargo within said range during the remaining shipment period is above a cut-off level, then taking action to preserve the value of the cargo.
Abstract: Windows, or other types of transparent materials, may be constructed to passively allow light from alternate sources to pass therethrough, while also being able to actively produce artificial light for providing illumination from one side of the window by means of an incorporated optical waveguide that accepts light from an edge of the window and disperses it from only one side of the window.
Abstract: An electrical actuator system, especially for hospital and care beds and patient beds, comprising a number of actuators (6,7; 10,11), a control box (12) with a mains-based power supply, and typically also a rechargeable battery package and a control unit with a microprocessor, a number of controls (15,16), an orientation light (17) for mounting under the bed. The system comprises at least one junction box (13,14) and the orientation lighting is, with its own control unit, located in this. This enables a flexible location of the lighting.
Abstract: A light emitting device, comprises at least: a light emitting element; a wavelength conversion member for converting the wavelength of light from the light emitting element; a bendable light guide member for guiding light from the light emitting element to the wavelength conversion member; and a heat conduction member that is thermally connected to the wavelength conversion member.
Abstract: A make up station provides even illumination for a performer's face while minimizing glare and distracting reflections. The make up station is modular to allow the easy assembly of multiple make up stations partially sharing common lighting between adjacent stations. Light rays emanating from the forward most edge of a light source are blocked by a raised trim or reflected from the mirror surface in a direction so that they do not impinge on the user's eye.

Abstract: A closet hanging rod structure with an illumination function is provided having a voltage-regulating device, two fixing units, two adjustment units, and a hanging rod. The voltage-regulating device is fixedly disposed at a predetermined position inside a closet or a wardrobe. The two fixing units are fixedly disposed on a partition board of the closet or the wardrobe. The adjustment units can be joined with the two fixing units. Two ends of the hanging rod are joined at one end of the two adjustment units. The adjustment units can be used to adjust the height of the hanging rod. The voltage-regulating device is used to provide a stable voltage for supplying required electricity for the lamp tube in the hanging rod, hence achieving an untrammeled and high-brightness illumination effect and avoiding the problem of insufficient light required for selecting or discriminating clothes.
Abstract: A wardrobe casement includes a generally rectangular hollow wooden casing having on a front side an opening into the interior thereof. A stack of drawers are mounted in the casing interior. A shelf is mounted above the stack of drawers and has two recessed, generally convex bowls therein adapted for receiving various articles of personal wardrobe therein. First and a second compartments, on opposite sides of the stack of drawers, have therein an extensible, horizontally extending rod adapted to receive hanging wardrobe articles as belts and ties thereon. A generally rectangular first mirror is mounted above the shelf in the casing interior. A door is hingedly mounted on the casing. A second mirror is mounted on the outer surface of the door and covers substantially all of the outer surface of the door.
Abstract: There is provided a bench to facilitate the self-examination, shaving, and/or cleansing of the user's pubic area. The bench includes a cavity which is covered by an operable top. A light and a mirror are received in the cavity. The bench includes one or more foot supports. The mirror is mechanically linked to the top so that when the top is opened the mirror will move out of the cavity. The mirror is adjustable to permit the user to readily observe the pubic area.
Abstract: A vanity cabinet is disclosed for installation as a component of prebuilt and site-assembled cabinetry, and countertop or custom built cabinets fabricated entirely on the job site. The cabinet includes a hinged cover, a folding vanity panel hinged to the underside of said cover, and a mirror and mirror support hinged to the vanity panel. The mirror and mirror support are retained for viewing in a selected, generally constant angular position with respect to the vanity panel regardless of whether the cover is raised or lowered. The vanity panel is supported by bearing assemblies such as rollers which allow that panel to automatically unfold and swing to an upright viewing position when the cover is raised. Light panels adjacent the mirror are provided for illumination.
