Abstract: A parabola light reflector includes multiple light reflecting surfaces on an umbrella skin. A first or outer skin is used to provide support for and to define the shape of the inner skin. A second or inner skin has a larger surface area than the outer skin and the inner skin is made up of panels of light reflecting material. The panels of the inner skin are stitched together in a variety of different configurations to achieve differing results. The inner skin is configured into a collection of three dimensional folds, creases, bends and angles that significantly increases the surface area of the inner skin that is available to reflect light and to create novel light dispersion patterns from a light source associated with the light reflector.

Abstract: A flash apparatus and related systems and methods of use are disclosed herein. The apparatus includes a housing having a generally concave reflector, and a light source disposed within the reflector. A handle can be engaged with the housing and/or the light source to facilitate manual positioning and repositioning of the light source relative to a photographic apparatus remote from the housing and/or an object to be photographed. A synchronization device is in communication with the light source and the photographic apparatus for causing the light source to emit a flash of light when the photographic device is actuated. A modifier can also be engaged with the reflector for modifying the emitted flash of light. In a portable system, various interchangeable reflectors, modifiers, and light sources can be provided. Power sources for the light sources and a stand engageable with the handle can also be included.

Abstract: A camera flash module is provided. The camera flash module may include a lens having a single refractive surface and a reflector that adjusts a direction of a light emitted from the lens. Accordingly, maintaining of a distance between a light emitting device and the lens may not be needed and thus, the camera flash module may be readily manufactured and a productivity may be improved. An error rate caused by distortion in a tilt and an optical axis between the light emitting device and the lens may be reduced. The reflector may adjust a direction of a light emitted from the lens and thus, an emission pattern requested by a camera may be satisfied, and a velocity of light may be improved. The reflector may surround the lens and thus, may prevent the lens from being detached from a light emitting device package body when an external impact occurs.

Abstract: An illumination device for an image capture system according to one example embodiment includes an integrating light pipe having an input face and an output face. The integrating light pipe is positioned to receive light from a light source at the input face and transmit the light at the output face. A projection element is positioned to focus the light from the output face to a document plane to be imaged by an image sensor. A uniformity correction device is positioned to attenuate the light from the output face so that the light has a substantially uniform intensity at the image sensor and a less uniform intensity at the document plane than at the image sensor.
