Abstract: Mounting brackets hold solar-powered lanterns such as used for garden and pathway lighting. The lanterns make useful hand held lighting if they are releasably mounted in the mounting bracket where they will get sunshine for charging and where a user will often need to use a lantern. They may be mounted for example beside doors or on fence or gate posts, or on walls such as the outside walls of buildings or enclosures such as storage sheds, metal storage containers, etc. A user has no trouble locating the closest lantern after dark as the lanterns automatically turn their lighting elements on when it gets dark. The user may then merely pull the lantern by its stalk, which now serves as the lantern handle, and the resilient tongs of the mounting bracket releases the lantern.

  • Patent number: 8052311
Abstract: Pull-down self-supportive lighting device mounted on hand-reachable ceilings, the lighting device comprising retracting unit (25), illuminating unit (23), and gooseneck (41) connected between units (25) and (23). Retracting unit (25) is mounted above an opening on the ceiling. Illuminating unit (23) has a retracted position adjacent to retracting unit (25). Gooseneck (41) has a predetermined internal structure and a bendability and rigidity balance that allows its winding inside retracting unit (25) while being able to hold illuminating unit (23) fixed in place. As a user pulls down finger-handle (31), gooseneck (41) unwinds allowing illuminating unit (23) to take a multitude of pull-down lighting position targeting the viewing area. With a press of pushbutton (29), retracting unit (25) pulls up illuminating unit (23) towards the retracted position wherein the user snaps it in with one hand.

Abstract: A portable lighting device that is lightweight and features a space-efficient design includes a body containing a Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery. The body includes a pair of pivot arms that are spaced from one another. A lamp assembly includes a lamp assembly housing containing a light source that is powered by the Li-ion battery. The lamp assembly housing is pivotally connected to each of the pair of pivot arms and positioned there between. A handle includes a gripping portion that is spaced from the body so that a gripping space is defined between the gripping portion of the handle and the body. A removable bumper pad is positioned on the bottom of the body. The portable lighting device features recesses on opposite sides that are engaged by corresponding tabs on a charging rack. This prevents non-compatible lighting devices from being positioned on the charging rack.

  • Patent number: 7909490
Abstract: The present invention provides a lighting apparatus with an elongated housing which accommodates a light source. The housing may be pivoted to rotate between a stored position and a deployed position. The housing may be maintained at a plurality of desired positions within its range of rotation. In addition, according to a feature of the invention, the elongated housing may be relatively rigid, yet also articulated, so that it can flex transversely in response to an applied force. In an embodiment, the housing may be provided with a swivel portion that can be used to change the direction of the light. Various electrical features may be provided as well, such as a brightness control feature and an auto-off feature that switches off the light in the stowed position.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a multi-functional traffic signal stick, which has a red signal LED part for providing a signal stick function and a white signal LED part for providing a flash light function, and which a police officer carries on the road. The multi-functional traffic signal stick can be carried conveniently as a flash light by telescoping each joint of a length-adjustable flashing tube manufactured in an antenna type into a larger tube, and used as a signal stick, which is well seen from a far distance, by stretching each joint of the length-adjustable flashing tube like an antenna. In addition, the present invention can serve to inform danger or accidents when being mounted uprightly on the road or a proper place such that three supporting rods mounted on a grip part at regular intervals are unfolded to support the signal stick.
