  • Patent number: 9435932
Abstract: A light guide plate includes a main body including a light emitting surface. A number of glues, each with a different, and lower, refractive index when cured, are applied through a covering plate onto the light emitting surface. Each type of glue forms a layer on the layer below, the stack of layers forms a plurality of spaced micro-rods on the light emitting surface. Each layer in the micro-rod thus includes top and bottom and side surfaces. The different refraction indexes of each layer, reducing along a direction from the light emitting surface to the top surface of each rod, causes light to be emitted substantially equally from the periphery of each layer in the micro-rod as well as from the top of each rod. The maximum refraction index of any layer in the micro-rod is not greater than that of the main body.

Abstract: A two-dimensional array of linear wave guides includes a plurality of 2D planar wave guide assemblies, columns, sets or layers which each produce a respective depth plane to for a simulated 4D light field. Linear wave guides may have a rectangular cylindrical shape, and may stacked in rows and columns. Each linear wave guide is at least partially internally reflective, for example via at least one opposed pair of at least partially reflective planar side walls, to propagate light along a length of the wave guide. Curved micro-reflectors may reflect some modes of light while passing others. The side walls or a face may reflect some modes of light while passing others. The curved micro-reflectors of any given wave guide each contribute to spherical wave front at a defined radial distance, the various layers producing image planes at respective radial distances.

Abstract: A lamp has an LED, a base, and a reflector. The base is rigidly connected to the LED and has a base contact surface. The reflector, which can be connected to the base, has a reflector contact surface, an entry opening, an exit opening, and a longitudinal direction (L) that runs from the exit opening to the entry opening. The reflector contact surface is arranged in the longitudinal direction (L) between the entry opening and the exit opening, and the base contact surface abuts the reflector contact surface. Thus, movement of the base and/or reflector towards each other is prevented when the reflector is connected to the base. The reflector is formed in such a way that a projection of the reflector contact surface in the longitudinal direction (L) of the reflector is free of undercuts.
