  • Patent number: 7712920
Abstract: A light color adjustment structure for illuminated keyboards to resolve the shortcomings of conventional illuminated keyboards that generate mono light and unalterable includes a light source module located in an illuminated keyboard and a brightness control module located in the illuminated keyboard and electrically connected to the light source module. The light source module has at least a first light source and a second light source of different light colors that are mixed to generate a light color for the illuminated keyboard. The brightness control module generates a brightness control signal sent to the light source module to control the brightness of the light source module. Thus through brightness alterations and mixing of the first and second light sources varying light colors can be generated.

Abstract: An uniformly self-luminous keyboard device comprises a housing and a keyboard unit. The housing includes an upper casing and a lower casing, which can be assembled together. After the upper casing and the lower casing are assembled together, an accommodation space is formed therebetween. The upper casing has an opening interconnecting the accommodation space. The keyboard unit is arranged in the accommodation space and includes a plurality of press members passing through the opening and moved by a force to have a displacement, and a baseplate supporting the press members. A light conduction space is formed between the baseplate and the lower casing. A light emitting unit is arranged inside the light conduction space. The height of the light conduction space decreases with the distance to the light emitting unit, whereby light is uniformly distributed over the bottom of the keyboard unit. Thus is achieved the uniformly self-luminous keyboard device.

The LCD display can be employed to generate telltale warning indicators. The LCD display provides flexibility in the display of information so that a relatively large quantity of telltale warning indicators can be handled without specifically dedicating a light source, a light tunnel and space on the vehicle display for each telltale warning indicator that may be employed in a vehicle.

Abstract: A backlight assembly having an improved heat releasing structure and a display device having the backlight assembly are provided. The backlight assembly includes a plurality of lamps emitting light and a fixing member receiving the plurality of lamps. A separating member protruding from an edge of the fixing member defines an inner space that contains the light-lamp portions in the fixing member, and the separating member separates electrodes of the lamps from the inner space. The separating member has openings that are positioned to direct the heat generated by the lamp electrodes away from the inner space where the excess heat can cause display quality deterioration.

Abstract: A light guide has a series of light channels passing through the guide between an outer planar surface and a base. Two resilient arms extend from opposite ends of the guide. The arms have free ends with cap elements for fitting over bosses within an instrument cluster mask. The base of the guide, through a flex action of the resilient arms, forces a dial or appliqué against the mask for viewing through a display window in the mask. In a vehicle instrument cluster assembly, the light guide is located between the mask and a printed circuit board (PCB). The PCB has light emitting diodes for fitting into the channels at the planar surface of the guide and backlighting the appliqué. The PCB presses against the cap elements of the resilient arms, causing the base of the guide to force the appliqué against sides of the mask window.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a micromotor for an indicator device comprising a hand of the type generally used in the instrument panels of motor vehicles. More specifically, the present invention concerns a micromotor of this type comprising a case wherein the thickness of one area is smaller than its maximum thickness, so as to form a free space or recess open on the exterior, in particular on the bottom of the case. This recess can be advantageously used for arranging components necessary for the operation of the instrument panel in which the micromotor is mounted, thereby saving space with respect to devices of the prior art.
