  • Patent number: 11858311
Abstract: Examples provide an attachment frame for combination attachment of environmental control devices. A plurality of non-articulating, rigid segments within a main body bend at various fixed angles. A perpendicular support arm forms an “L-shaped” attachment at the top of the main body. The support arm mounts one or more lights which attach to a top surface of the support arm. A bottom surface of the support arm mounts a fan or heater above a conveyor or other work area. The attachment frame includes a container holder to hold a water bottle or other container. A mounting plate connected to segment at the bottom of the main body mounts to the trailer conveyor device or other equipment. The attachment frame provides light, ventilation and/or temperature control for users working within an interior of a trailer or other confined spaces.

Abstract: In an example, a mobile computing device such as a tablet, laptop, or convertible is operable to couple to a docking station via high-frequency wireless such as WiGig at 60 GHz. Because high-frequency signals are highly directional, the mobile computing device is provided with a high-frequency antenna operable as a rotor. In one embodiment, the antenna is freely hinged to a gravitational pivot, and pivots toward the docking station responsive to gravitational torque. In another embodiment, an actuator drives the antenna to a correct angle responsive to a rotational sensor. In this case, an angle sweep may be performed around a midpoint to identify a best angle for high-frequency communication.

Abstract: A load control system provides for automatically controlling a position of a motorized window treatment to control the amount of sunlight entering a space of a building through a window located in a façade of the building in order to control a sunlight penetration distance within the space and minimize occupant distractions. The load control system automatically generates a timeclock schedule having a number of timeclock events for controlling the position of the motorized window treatment during the present day. A user is able to select a desired maximum sunlight penetration distance for the space and a minimum time period that may occur between any two consecutive timeclock events. In addition, a maximum number of movements that may occur during the timeclock schedule may also be entered. The load control system uses these inputs to determine event times and corresponding positions of the motorized window treatment for each timeclock event.

Abstract: Vehicle headlights that rotate in accordance with movement of the vehicle's steering system are disclosed. The rotatable lights are portable and suited for attachment on a variety of vehicles. The lights are rotated by means of small DC motors wired to a mechanical linkage mounted on the vehicle's steering column. The amount of rotation is determined by potentiometers mounted on the mechanical linkage and the DC motors. A logic circuit is also disclosed for use in conjunction with the device to enable each unit to be readily used on vehicles having different steering ratios.

  • Patent number: 4336571
Abstract: During acceleration and deceleration the front end of the body of a motor vehicle dips or rears on the suspension causing light beams from the headlamps to be directed upwards or downwards too much. To avoid this the orientation of a headlamp is variable by pivoting the lamp relative to the vehicle body, about a horizontal axis extending transversely of the body, in response to operation of an orientation control which responds to acceleration and deceleration.

  • Patent number: 4316238
Abstract: A frame attached to a ceiling supports a horizontally reciprocal carriage. A light fixture is supported by the carriage. A flexible conductor has one end connected to the fixture and an intermediate portion extending around a part of said carriage so that movement of the carriage in one direction lowers the fixture and movement in an opposite direction elevates the fixture.

  • Patent number: 4236194
Abstract: A dampened light apparatus for a pivotal boom on a back hoe or the like including a support for securement to a boom. A well housing is mounted on the support, and a crank arm is pivotally mounted on the support. An electric light is mounted on the crank arm together with an electric current conducting means carried by the light, the arm and the support. A dampening blade is connected to and extending radially from the arm and extending into a liquid in the well housing for movement therein so that when pivotal movement of the boom causes relative pivotal movement between the support and the arm the blade moving through the liquid dampens the pivotal movement of the arm and the light thereon.
