Patent number: 8267922Abstract: A phototherapy light device for directing light onto an infant. The phototherapy light device has a base containing an illumination source and a gooseneck type of elongated neck that extends outwardly from the base and has a distal end adapted to be positioned to direct the light onto the infant. An optical fiber transmits the light from the illumination source to the distal end through the optical fiber where the light is passed through a light emanating device located at the distal end of the elongated neck. The elongated neck has two flexible sections, one of which has two coaxial springs to provide flexibility in positioning as well as to impart sufficient strength and rigidity to the elongated neck. The dual spring concept provides a system having reduced stresses while creating a double fault structural system without compromising the flexibility of the elongated neck.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2006Date of Patent: September 18, 2012Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Colin G. Patent number: 7620876Abstract: A device reduces false positive memory error detections by using a masking unit and sensitivity mask data to exclude unused portions of the memory from the error detection computations. A device includes an error detection unit to read data from the memory and verify data integrity. The sensitivity mask data indicates unused portions of the memory. Unused portions of the memory may correspond with configuration data for unused portions of a programmable device. Each bit of the sensitivity mask data may indicate the usage of one or more bits of the data from the memory. In response to the mask data, the masking unit sets data from the unused portions of the memory to values that do not change the result of the error detection computations. This prevents any errors in data from the unused portions of the memory from raising an error signal.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2006Date of Patent: November 17, 2009Assignee: Altera CorporationInventors: David Lewis, Robert Blake, Richard G. Patent number: 7275839Abstract: The multi-color light lamp has a base divided into a plurality of segments. The three segments are spaced at 120 degrees. More or less segments can be used. An LED is positioned in each segment, the LED in each segment emits a color distinct from the light emitted by the LEDs in the other segments. If the lamp is to be used for automotive purposes, the LED in a first segment emits red light as a taillight and a stop light, the LED in a second segment emits yellow light a turn signal lamp, and the LED in the third segment emits white light as a backup light. A light pipe is operatively associated with the LEDs in each segment for directing emitted light away from the base. The LEDs (preferably two per segment) are mounted upon a thermally efficient printed circuit board such as a flex-on aluminum board.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2005Date of Patent: October 2, 2007Assignee: Osram Sylvania, Inc.Inventors: Charles M. Patent number: 6793359Abstract: A transmission member is swingably connected respectively to a reflector and a nut member, about an axis substantially orthogonal to a tilting direction of the reflector and to an advancing and backward direction of the nut member. As a result, the transmission member, which forms a link of a link mechanism, converts the linear motion of the nut member into rotation motion and transmits the rotation motion to the reflector, and also adjusts a misalignment between the linear motion of the nut member and the rotation motion of the reflector. Accordingly, optical axis adjustment is carried out smoothly.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2002Date of Patent: September 21, 2004Assignee: Ichikoh Industries, Ltd.Inventor: Miyoshi Iwamoto

Patent number: 6558014Abstract: An illustration illuminator has a leg arrangement and a frame connected to the leg arrangement and extending upwardly and at a slant rearwardly away from the leg arrangement. A support surface is arranged at the front side of the frame for supporting an illustration to be illuminated. A light assembly is connected to the frame remote from the leg arrangement for illuminating the support surface. The light assembly has lamps emitting light rays and further has a front end with an outlet via which the light rays exit and impinge on the support surface. The light assembly has a reflector arranged relative to the lamps such that the light rays emitted by the lamps pass through the outlet only after having been reflected at least once on the reflector.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2001Date of Patent: May 6, 2003Assignee: Just Normlicht Vertriebs-GmbHInventors: Christa Just, Michael Gall
