    Abstract: The light array of this invention includes a number of columns and rows of LED's connected in a series/parallel combination. The series parallel combinations effectively optimize the impedance, accommodate failure rate, facilitate light mixing, provide a means of imbedding redundancy, and common cathodes or anodes. This arrangement provides a superior light source for consumer, industrial and specialty markets in respect to mean time between failure, process control, radiant intensity, wavelength mixing, power requirements and other characteristics of the light source. Each column includes a number of rows of plural LED's. The LED's in each row are wired in series and each column is wired in parallel so that if one LED fails only the LED's connected in series with the failed LED will also fail. There is redundancy in the circuit as well as the arrays so that if there are failures different current carrying elements or different series LEDS will automatically by powered on.

A second module is electrically connected to the first module by a pair of flexible conductor wires.

The interior of the case is for locating a rechargeable battery, and the battery when charged, supplies power to the power outlet such that the light head can be powered. Recharging can be via either a 12V DC automobile or a 110 AC power supply. The carrying handle is extendible; and retractable, and in the retraction mode is essentially within the general perimeter space of the case. The case includes a pair of pulley wheels, the wheels being for facilitating the moving of the case.

    Abstract: Under-cabinet lighting systems and methods include lighting fixtures are capable of being hidden from view by a decorative molding forming a part of the cabinetry. Such decorative molding also serves the dual purpose of a wiring raceway and a physical support for the lighting fixture. The lighting fixture includes a mounting clip which is especially adapted to be engaged removably with the wiring channel of the molding at a desired location along the length thereof. The mounting clip may be integrally provided with a component of the lighting fixture or may be provided as a separate structure which is removeably attached thereto. At the location of the lighting fixture, the wiring may be extended into engagement with knife contacts of the fixture which pierce the insulation of the wiring and establish electrical contact with the bulb. In such a manner, hidden under-cabinet lighting fixtures may be provided which are relatively easy to install as a component part of the cabinetry.
