Clamp Or Hook Patents (Class 362/396)
  • Patent number: 10648776
Abstract: A modular dovetail rail clamping assembly includes a polymer body and a metal fixed clamp component. A threaded fastener extends through the body and into the fixed clamp component to draw the fixed clamp component into engagement with the body. The fixed clamp component and the body have mating longitudinal ridge and groove structures which rigidly fix alignment of the fixed clamp component relative to the body when assembled. A metal movable clamp component opposes the fixed clamp. A threaded clamping fastener extends through the movable clamp component and the body, and is received into the fixed clamp component to draw the movable clamp component into engagement with the body. A removable, reversible crossbar extends transversely across the body between the fixed clamp component and the movable clamp component.

The holder comprises two cylindrical clamps made of tensile material, i.e. its jaws may be stretched apart and will spring back with compressive and/or holding force, such that almost any object may be gripped and mounted on almost any surface. Because they are curved yet tensile, the clamps can hug curved objects or surfaces, as well as grip flat objects with compressive force. The clamps are connected such that they are rotatable 360 degrees with respect to each other, and one clamp is slidable around the surface of the other. The rotatable and slidable configuration provides versatility, allowing objects to be mounted for different purposes and in different configurations.

Abstract: A reflector assembly and method for installing into a collar. The reflector assembly includes a reflector, a frame surrounding and being coupled to a portion of the reflector, and one or more connectors coupled to the frame. Each connector includes a base portion coupled to the frame, a first finger, and a biasing portion. The first finger and the biasing portion extend in a generally upward direction from a portion of the base portion; however the first finger is angled away from the reflector while the biasing portion is angled toward the reflector. The biasing portion exerts a force on the side of the reflector when the first finger portion is compressed inwardly towards a side of the reflector. The reflector assembly is installed into a collar by inserting the reflector assembly into the collar and allowing first finger to compress toward the reflector and then away from it.

Abstract: Mounting brackets hold solar-powered lanterns such as used for garden and pathway lighting. The lanterns make useful hand held lighting if they are releasably mounted in the mounting bracket where they will get sunshine for charging and where a user will often need to use a lantern. They may be mounted for example beside doors or on fence or gate posts, or on walls such as the outside walls of buildings or enclosures such as storage sheds, metal storage containers, etc. A user has no trouble locating the closest lantern after dark as the lanterns automatically turn their lighting elements on when it gets dark. The user may then merely pull the lantern by its stalk, which now serves as the lantern handle, and the resilient tongs of the mounting bracket releases the lantern.
