Patent number: 7954966Abstract: A stage lighting lamp unit includes a processor for receiving control data from a remote console. Beam orientation data for the lamp unit is passed to the lamp in the form of the x, y and z co-ordinates of a point in space through which the beam is to pass. The processor divides the required lamp travel into a number of stages dependent on execution duration data sent with the position data, and calculates, for each stage, a new value for pan and tilt angles for the lamp. These values are passed to pan and tilt controlling co-processors which control servo-motors for pan and tilt operation. The lamp unit also incorporates a rotatable shutter for interrupting the lamp beam when required. The shutters of all the lamps in a system can be instructed from the remote console to open and close in synchronism, thereby providing a stroboscopic effect.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2007Date of Patent: June 7, 2011Assignee: Production Resource Group, L.L.C.Inventors: Mark A. Patent number: 5479323Abstract: A vehicular cornering lamp system which can be adapted to all types and models of vehicles without having to change the correspondence of the illuminating angle with specific characteristics of the vehicle. The angular velocity of the vehicle is detected when the vehicle is traveling on a curve by an angular velocity sensor. Pulses from a distance sensor are counted to detect the vehicle's velocity. Angular velocity data and vehicle velocity data are latched by respective latch circuits. The reciprocal of the turning radius is calculated directly by dividing the angular velocity data by the vehicle velocity data in a divider. There is carried out an arithmetic operation of calculating the reciprocal of the turning radius after calculating the turning radius by dividing the vehicle velocity data by the angular velocity data. The ends of the latter are formed over and engaged in notches formed in a support of the device. The edges of the notches constitute abutments for the swing-bar.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1978Date of Patent: March 25, 1980Assignee: Automobiles PeugeotInventor: Gerard Piquot

Patent number: 4065806Abstract: A searchlight or the like comprising a base, a housing rotatable horizontally and accommodating one or more lamps and reflectors, and a planetary rotation mechanism provided between the base and the housing to rotate the housing. A support frame carrying lamps and reflectors thereon is pivotally connected within the housing for vertical tilting movement centering around a horizontal axis passing through focal points of the reflector. The irradiation angle can be easily varied by tilting upwardly or downwardly the supporting frame without tilting the heavy housing. The circumferential position of irradiation can be changed by operating the planetary rotation mechanism which is compact in size.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 1976Date of Patent: December 27, 1977Assignee: Sanshin Dengu Manufacturing Co., Ltd.Inventor: Taiji Satoh
