Abstract: This adjustable two bulb lamp adapter is an electrical device with a male threaded light bulb type base to permit use of two low energy CFL bulbs in place of and function as a three-way incandescent light bulb in existing shade lamps. The adapter embodies two bulb holders with limited and independent rotational adjustment in a plane parallel to the axis of the threaded base. An integral thumb wheel permits rotating and securing the adapter base into the receiving socket while the two bulbs are held in a fixed position. An included adjuster allows utilization as a two bulb adapter for a single filament bulb type socket. These adjustments provide means to optimize fit and light distribution in existing lamp shades and other applications. The concept of using the adapter's adjustable two bulb sockets greatly enhances selecting lower energy CFL bulbs to achieve higher levels of illumination in more applications than available in fixed adapters.

  • Patent number: 7661818
Abstract: A clip-on light apparatus is provided having a polyaxial coupling joint between a light module and frame to permit the light module to be pivoted about a plurality of axes relative to the frame for directing light in a plurality of directions. The polyaxial coupling joint preferably permits pivoting of the light module about at least two orthogonal axes. In one form, the light module is mounted to a pivot shaft about which the module can be turned with the pivot shaft itself being pivoted along one of the two orthogonal pivot axes.

Abstract: A leveling device helps to prevent misalignment in the axial direction of an adjusting screw with respect to a shaft. A shaft 20 has an insertion cylindrical portion 21 that is in a generally cylindrical shape, and a shaft-side engagement portion 23 that is connected in the axial direction of the insertion cylindrical portion. An adjusting screw 27 has an insertion shaft portion 28 that mates with the insertion cylindrical portion of the shaft, and a screw-side engagement portion 31 that engages with the shaft-side engagement portion. The insertion shaft portion of the adjusting screw has an irregular portion 28a that is press-fit into the insertion cylindrical portion of the shaft, and that restricts movement in the axial direction with respect to the shaft.

  • Patent number: 7419284
Abstract: A passing lamp assembly for a motorcycle. A mount arm extends between opposite end portions and is mounted below the headlight of a motorcycle. A spherical element having a through-hole passing therethrough is formed at the mount arm end portions. Passing lamps are pivotally mounted above the spherical elements by stems attached to the lamps and passing through the spherical elements. Spherical washers are mounted around the stem between the passing lamp and the spherical element, and between the underside of the spherical element and a fastener. First and second turn signals are mounted below the spherical elements by turn signal mounts and are not pivotally movable relative to the mount arm. The turn signal mounts conceal mounting hardware for the passing lamp.

  • Patent number: 7198392
Abstract: An adjuster to be used with numerous applications including the adjusting of a headlamp reflector of a headlamp assembly includes a clutch mechanism that prevents over-driving and over-traveling of the adjuster output shaft during an overload condition. The adjuster includes generally an output shaft, drive gear, spring, and a driven gear that allow the headlamp adjuster to clutch. The driven gear is held in an engaged position with the drive gear by the spring force of the spring. In a high torque condition, such as when the output shaft encounters a high load, the driven gear will disengage from the drive gear overcoming the spring force of the spring. In this position, the headlamp adjuster will clutch, thereby preventing the over-driving and over-traveling of the output shaft.
