  • Patent number: 11530792
Abstract: To protect observer's eyes while forming a clear illumination pattern on a desired region to be illuminated. An illumination device includes a light source that emits coherent light, a collimating optical system that enlarges and collimates a beam diameter of the coherent light emitted from the light source, and a diffractive optical element that diffracts the coherent light collimated by the collimating optical system into a predetermined diffusion angle space. The diffractive optical element has a plurality of element diffractive optical portions and has a function to illuminate the region to be illuminated defined at a predetermined position and having predetermined size and shape to form the desired illumination pattern. Each of the plurality of element diffractive optical portions has a function to illuminate at least a part of the region to be illuminated, and diffractive characteristics of the element diffractive optical portions are different from each other.

Abstract: A clip applying apparatus is provided for connecting plastic clips to reinforcing bars. The clip applying apparatus will generally include a barrel, a hammer received in the barrel, and a main drive configured to reciprocate the hammer within the barrel. Other features may include a safety shield as well as a lockout lever which prevents proximal movement of the safety shield if a clip is not fully received within the barrel. Another feature which may be included is a clip door operably connected to a sliding-pivot channel defined in one of the barrel and the clip door. Still other features may include at least one guide slot disposed within the barrel to direct hammer movement, and a hammer bushing coaxial with the barrel to support the hammer.

  • Patent number: 7246021
Abstract: The directions of optical axes of headlights of a vehicle are adjusted based on a steering angle by switching filters of different response speed characteristics. The filters are provided with hystereses along boundaries neighboring to each other. The filters are switched depending upon the steering angle and a steering angular velocity to vary the response of swivel control. Therefore, the start of swiveling is not quickened, the filter is not frequently switched, quick motion is suppressed and, hence, smooth motion is realized making it possible to execute a swivel control without causing discomfort.

  • Patent number: 5774416
Abstract: In ocean bottom seismic exploration, it is common for co-located hydrophones and geophones to be deployed on the ocean bottom. One problem encountered is the water column reverberation. An improved method and device is proposed for attenuating water column reverberations using co-located hydrophones and geophones in ocean bottom seismic processing. In this method, each recorded hydrophone and geophone signal, or trace, is decomposed into a series of narrow band-pass filtered traces. For each of the filtered traces, a measurement of the energy level is made upon which normalization factors are computed and applied. The resulting filtered, normalized traces are summed. Optionally, prior to application, the normalization factors can be organized by common shot, common group, common offset, and surface consistent normalization factors derived and applied for each pass-band.

  • Patent number: 4631647
Abstract: The light device is suitable for use on an interior wall and/or ceiling to provide a continuous uniformly lighted large wall or sheet of light for a unique effect. The device includes a rear support grid which is rigid and flat and adapted to be screwed or otherwise connected to a wall or ceiling. The grid can be, for example, of spaced interconnected translucent bars bearing rear wire-receiving channels. The grid bears electrical wiring for connection to an external power source, spaced electrical outlets on the front surface of the grid connected to the wiring, and a plurality of electrical light bulbs releasably connected to the outlets. A plurality of flat translucent panels with beveled outer edges are releasably held in edge to edge relation in front of the grid and parallel thereto by spaced translucent or transparent spacer legs. The panel edges preferably slope at 45.degree.

  • Patent number: 4573107
Abstract: A steerable spotlight assembly characterized by a pair of spotlights rotatably coupled to a vehicle's front bumper, and a cable-and-gear arrangement which couples the spotlights to the vehicle's steering column. More specifically, the cable-and-gear arrangement includes a spotlight rotating mechanism attached to each of the spotlights, a split gear attached around the steering column, a pair of cable drive gears simultaneously engaged with the split steering column gear, and a pair of rotary cables coupled between the cable drive gears and the spotlight rotating mechanisms. The cable drive gears are spring loaded so that they may disengage from the steering column gear if the steerable spotlight assembly becomes jammed. The spotlight rotating mechanisms are sealed and supported so as to be resistant to environmental damage, and provided with a gearing system which will not permit rotational force to be transmitted back from the spotlights to the cables.

  • Patent number: 4340928
Abstract: Vehicle headlights that rotate in accordance with movement of the vehicle's steering system are disclosed. The rotatable lights are portable and suited for attachment on a variety of vehicles. The lights are rotated by means of small DC motors wired to a mechanical linkage mounted on the vehicle's steering column. The amount of rotation is determined by potentiometers mounted on the mechanical linkage and the DC motors. A logic circuit is also disclosed for use in conjunction with the device to enable each unit to be readily used on vehicles having different steering ratios.
