Plural Separate Reflectors With Complex Surfaces Patents (Class 362/517)
  • Publication number: 20100002459
Abstract: Disclosed is a cover for reducing light and heat received on an interior surface of a vehicle. The cover includes a plurality of reflecting elements and a plurality of light absorbing elements. Each reflecting element of the plurality of reflecting elements is inclined at a predefined inclination with respect to the interior surface. The predefined inclination enables the each reflecting element to reflect the light and the heat received on the interior surface. The plurality of light absorbing elements is coupled with the plurality of reflecting elements to form a saw-tooth arrangement. The plurality of light absorbing elements is capable of absorbing the light. Reflection of the light and the heat by the plurality of reflecting elements and absorption of the light by the plurality of light absorbing elements reduce the light and the heat received on the interior surface.

Abstract: A lighting device with a stable high light intensity can effectively dissipate heat generated by an LED so that the light emission efficiency does not deteriorate while the inside temperature distribution can be maintained in an even state. The lighting device can also be configured to prevent snow from adhering onto an outer lens by allowing an outer surface temperature of the lighting device to rise during actuation of the device. The lighting device can also be configured to improve light utilization efficiency. The lighting device can include a semiconductor light emitting device as a light source and can include structure(s) that guides the emission light to a projection lens. The semiconductor light emitting device can be configured to emit light in a reverse or opposed direction with respect to an illumination direction for the lighting device. Abstract: A lighting device of the present invention includes: a first reflecting surface which is an elliptical reflecting surface; a semiconductor-type light source which is disposed at a first focal point of the first reflecting surface; and parabolic reflecting surfaces for controlling reflected light from the first reflecting surface and reflecting the controlled reflected light on a road surface, as predetermined light distribution patterns. The parabolic reflecting surfaces are a plurality of reflecting surfaces which are longitudinally divided into three sections. As a result, longitudinal steps are formed among the three parabolic reflecting surfaces that are longitudinally divided. Thus, if the reflected light from the first reflecting surface is incident to the longitudinal steps, the incident light is reflected in the lateral direction, i.e., in the transverse direction at the steps. In this manner, vertical stray light can be prevented.
