Abstract: A light system is disposed to be located on top of guide poles on either side of a trailer. The light system is in-line with the guide pole and may almost appear to be a part of the poles. The elevated light system allows for the brake lights to be more easily seen by following drivers and it normally keeps the brake lights from being immersed in water when the trailer is used in loading or unloading a boat or other marine craft. Additionally, in comparison with lights attached to the side of a guide pole, the in-line nature of the light system makes it less likely that the light will be knocked off or damaged when backing a trailer into a tight garage opening. Furthermore, a tell-tale lens is located opposite the primary lens and it allows the driver to be able to verify that the lights are working.

  • Patent number: 7357539
Abstract: A proportional brake light system having an LED display carried on a motor vehicle and capable of instantaneously warning motorists following from behind whether and how quickly the vehicle is likely to stop in response to an operator generated foot pressure being applied to the brake pedal shoe. The brake pedal shoe of the vehicle has a hollow interior, and an optical signal is transmitted along an optical transmission path extending therethrough. As the pressure applied by the operator to the brake pedal shoe is increased, more of the optical signal being transmitted along the optical transmission path is interrupted. A multi-stage comparator is responsive to an interruption of the optical signal so as to cause a corresponding number of LEDs from the display to be illuminated.

Abstract: A LED vehicle lamp structure installed in a vehicle lamp assembly comprising a housing, a lens, and a reflector is disclosed to include standing boards each having a top edge, a bottom edge, a height defined between the top edge and the bottom edge, and LEDs. By means of the arrangement of the LEDs on the standing boards to match with the heights of the standing boards between the respective top edges and the respective bottom edges, the light-emitting heads of the LEDs constitute an array that fits the variation of the curvature of the reflector and lens of the vehicle lamp assembly, thereby greatly lowering the cost and the manufacturing difficulty of the vehicle lamp assembly.
