The system defines first-pass endpoints corresponding to color characteristics of the light sources when operated at respective maximum intensities. The system determines first-pass amounts of respective maximum intensity contributions from the light sources to achieve light of the target point. When dimming the light to an intensity proportion, the system determines first-pass driver settings from the first-pass amounts and the intensity proportion. The system defines second-pass endpoints corresponding to color characteristics of the light sources when operated at the determined first-pass driver settings.

  • Patent number: 8706310
Abstract: A goal-based control system may be provided that controls lighting based on high-level management goals for the operation of a lighting system. The system may include a lighting system model. The system may convert the high-level management goals into low-level device control parameters that include a power level for each respective one of the light fixtures, where the system determines that a modeled operation of each respective one the light fixtures at the power level meets the management goals based on the lighting system model. The system may cause each respective one of the light fixtures to operate at the power level. The system may determine a likelihood of satisfying the management goals.

  • Patent number: 8690370
Abstract: A control module having a plurality of control elements configured to control a first function of the control module in a first operating mode and another function of the control module in another operating mode of the control module. The control elements are grouped into different groups of control elements. Each group of control elements corresponds to a predetermined group of functions of the control module. The grouping is dependant on the operating mode of the control module. An illumination system provides illuminated control-dividing surfaces that visually separate one group of control elements from another group of control elements. The illumination system illuminates the control-dividing surfaces according to the grouping of the control elements and according to the operating mode.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a display module, a base and a keyboard module. The display module is pivoted on the base. The keyboard module is disposed on the base. The keyboard module has a plurality of keys. Each of the keys includes a main body and an imprinted structure. The main body has a top surface. The imprinted structure is disposed on the top surface of the main body and includes a light guiding portion and a light scattering portion. A light emitted by the display module illuminates the keyboard module. The light is guided towards a specific direction when the light passes through the light guiding portion, and the light is scattered in other directions when the light passes through the light scattering portion.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for illuminating display panels of electronic devices are described. An example electronic device includes a first housing defining a first visual indicator. A first post extends from a first inner surface of the first housing where the first post has a first chamber to receive at least a portion of a first light source. The first chamber provides a first optical pathway between the first light source and the first visual indicator and the first post prevents the first light source from illuminating a second visual indicator adjacent the first visual indicator.
