Patent number: 8740391Abstract: The present invention concerns a projection system for providing a distributed manifestation within an environment. The projection system includes a data generator for generating a plurality of data sets of associated state data and spatial coordinate data. The projection system also includes a projector in communication with the data generator for receiving the data sets. The projector is provided with a signal generating module for generating a plurality of electromagnetic signals, and a projecting module for projecting each of the electromagnetic signals towards a target location within the environment. The projection system also includes a plurality of receiving units distributed within the environment, each receiving unit having a receiver for receiving one of the electromagnetic signals when the receiving unit is positioned in the corresponding target location, each receiving unit being adapted to perform a change of state in response to the state data.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2013Date of Patent: June 3, 2014Assignee: ESKI Inc.Inventors: Vincent Leclerc, Patrick Keroulas, Vincent de Belleval

Patent number: 8322864Abstract: A projection system incorporating a prism with dual total internal reflection function, to increase the performance of DLP™ projection, by offering a solution to combine 2 light paths to contribute to the brightness on the screen and at the same time rejecting flat-state and off-state light from entering the projection lens thereby enhancing contrast. In one implementation those two light paths can be collecting light from 2 different light sources which are driven in a pulsed manner with a duty cycle of approximately 50% for each of the two light sources at increased power. In a second implementation with a color sequential single DMD™ projector, while one light path passes a primary color the second light path passes the complementary secondary color. A special color transformation algorithm is proposed to transform the image input signals to make optimal use of the capabilities offered by the second implementation, and create maximum brightness and color saturation of the image.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2008Date of Patent: December 4, 2012Assignee: Barco N.V.Inventor: Dirk L. Patent number: 8295957Abstract: There is provided a method of customizing an audio presentation for tailoring to a predetermined event sequence, one embodiment comprising identifying the predetermined event sequence from a predetermined event sequence database, associating a first audio asset with one or more selected events of the predetermined event sequence, synchronizing the timing of the first audio assets with the timing of the selected events, and linking the first audio assets to produce a customized audio presentation tailored to the predetermined event sequence. In one embodiment, the method includes downloading an interactive audio presentation content including an interactive audio presentation program, an audio assets database, and the predetermined event sequence database to a client computer. In one embodiment, a system for customizing an audio presentation tailored to a predetermined event sequence comprises a client computer, a client memory located on the client computer, and interactive audio presentation content.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2007Date of Patent: October 23, 2012Assignee: Disney Enterprises, Inc.Inventors: Roger Holzberg, Edward Kummer, Jeffrey Voris, Joshua Rhoades, Seth Mendelsohn, Jarett Smith

Patent number: 7791905Abstract: Power converter with a controllable first switch and a diode and a controllable second switch and a second diode, a transformer with a primary winding and a secondary winding, of which the secondary winding forms at least part of a control circuit for the first switch. As a result of an alternating voltage across the primary winding, a synchronously alternating voltage is induced in the secondary winding, which can be used to control the first switch essentially synchronously with the second switch.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2007Date of Patent: September 7, 2010Assignee: Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V.Inventors: Bart Jozef Maria Smet, Hendrik Jan Zwerver

Patent number: 7522429Abstract: A DC-DC converter includes a transformer comprising primary and secondary coils. A series connection of the primary coil and a first switch is connected in parallel to a DC power. A series connection of a second switch and a capacitor is connected to both sides of the primary coil. A first control circuit controls an ON-time of the first switch. A second control circuit controls the second switch while the second control circuit is decoupled from the first control circuit. The first and second switches alternately turn ON and OFF. The second switch turns ON synchronizing with a first time period between after a charge to the capacitor is started and until the charge to the capacitor is ended. The second switch turns OFF when a second time period previously set has been elapsed after the second switch turned ON.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2006Date of Patent: April 21, 2009Assignee: Sanken Electric Co., Ltd.Inventor: Hiroshi Usui

Patent number: 7408311Abstract: A protection device protects a driving device of an electric motor with at least three phases and at least three windings and the driving device comprises a power stage suitable for driving directly said at least three windings. The driving device is suitable for actuating a motor brake operating phase and comprises detectors suitable for detecting the currents that run in the windings of the motor. The protection device comprises selectors suitable for selecting the currents having a single direction between said detected currents and a deactuator suitable for deactuating the power stage during said motor brake operating phase when the sum of the currents having a single direction is greater than a reference current.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2006Date of Patent: August 5, 2008Assignee: STMicroelectronics S.r.l.Inventors: Aldo Novelli, Vincenzo Marano, Luca Giussani
