    Abstract: An apparatus for containing and mixing a load of liquids and solids is disclosed. The apparatus includes an elongated tank, which includes a lower portion and an upper portion. The apparatus further includes an elongated rotatable shaft within the tank. At least one blade is connected to the shaft and is configured to mix the liquids and solids when the shaft is rotated. The apparatus also includes a shaft support configured for maintaining the shaft in a rotatable manner within the tank. The shaft support is selectively moveable in a manner permitting the shaft to move in an upward direction from the lower portion toward the upper portion, and in a downward direction from the upper portion toward the lower portion. An is contained with the tank for moving the shaft support in the upward direction and in the downward direction.

When the controller determines that scale has built up, the flow path is switched to the bypass by the flow path switching unit, and water containing microbubbles is caused to flow inside the water heater.

    Abstract: A tank agitator connects to a low head feed and causes agitation by discharging through a port that might rotate, oscillate, or otherwise issue a pulsing stream. A hollow drive shaft is spun by the turbine and extends through the exhaust plenum and to terminate outside the housing. It has an aperture that allows water in the exhaust plenum to flow into its lumen. A nozzle caps the shaft and is bent such that the discharge issuing therefrom sweeps in circles with the spinning of the drive shaft. A variant form of the agitator includes a drive train that incorporates a drag link to convert the spinning input of the turbine into an oscillating output in the drive shaft. Such directional changes in flow result in improved intermixing with the carbonating gas and improved chilling of the water prior to dispensing.     Abstract: Apparatus for anaerobic digestion of biodegradable waste material comprises a closed substantially vertical cylindrical tank containing a mixing assembly which comprises an annular gas-holding member connected to a gas distribution arm extending substantially radially outwardly from the annular gas-holding member towards the periphery of the tank. Both the annular gas-holding member and the gas distribution arm have open lower surfaces, and the gas distribution arm has exhaust apertures spaced along the length of the arm for delivering gas from the gas-holding member at different radial distances along the arm. The mixing assembly is rotatable about the central axis of the tank, with which axis the annular gas-holding member is concentrically located, and gas is supplied to the gas-holding member by a gas delivery duct having an outlet disposed beneath a part of the annulus defined by the annular gas-holding member.

    Abstract: A mixing and pelletizing chamber includes a semicylindrical flexible trough of rubber or other material in which a rotor assembly mixes and pelletizes material moved from an inlet end to an outlet end. Springs are attached to the trough to resist movement of the trough in the direction of the rotation of the rotor assembly. The rotor assembly includes an axial shaft having transversely extending arms with blades at their outer ends with every fourth arm and blade being in a common plane. The blades are symmetrical and have converging flat surface to control product retention time in the pelletizer and are adjustably connected to the arms for providing adjustment of the force of the conveying action to the material in the trough. Adjustment is provided by aligned slots on opposite sides of the tubular arms receiving bolts on which the blades are carried. Optionally, the blade may nest in a semicylindrical portion of the tubular arm for angular adjustment.

    Abstract: Insulating foam producing and delivering apparatus includes foaming agent and resin supplies, means for delivering the foaming agent and resin and also air under pressure and a foam gun for generating the foam and mixing the foam with the resin. The foam gun includes a foaming chamber in which foaming agent and air are discharged in jets so as to impact against blades of a free spinning propeller which is turned by jets to create a mixing turbulence and thereby whips the foaming agent and air into the desired froth or foam. The foam is combined with the resin through an extended resin discharge nozzle located downstream of the foaming chamber so as to confine the resin mixing essentially to the output applicator or dispenser hose and thereby to minimize clogging due to hardened resin residue. Transparent air, foaming agent and resin supply lines enable constant monitoring of the ingredients and facilitate the maintenance of the desired foam density and other desired conditions of the foam.
