Collapsible Articulated Stirrer Patents (Class 366/308)
  • Patent number: 4836687
Abstract: An adjustable stirring device for agitating non-homogeneous waste materials in structures having ingress/egress ports of a predetermined size. The device has a collapsible agitator assembly with a size greater than that of the ingress/egress port when in its expanded and operative state. The agitator assembly has a hub and at least one pivotally attached blade, which is constructed and arranged so that the blade is collapsible for insertion and removal from the ingress/egress port. The agitator assembly and its blades are of a certain configuration for use in municipal and agricultural waste structures. The device is further provided with an adjustable drive shaft assembly connected to the agitator assembly. A frame structure is provided for supporting the drive member assembly and for aligning the agitator assembly in an operative position.

  • Patent number: 4676654
Abstract: An agitator device for charging gas into PUR-components and for the homogenization of the PUR-components and the gas for the production of a foam material includes a pressure vessel for containing the mixture of components and gas with a stirring device extending into the body of the mixture. The stirring device includes a shaft which can be driven in opposite directions. First and second stirring elements are located on the shaft. In one direction of rotation only the first stirring elements operate to charge gas into the PUR-components and when the shaft is driven in the other direction both the first and second stirring elements operate to homogenize the mixture. In one arrangement, due to the direction of rotation, the second stirring elements can be pivotally displaced between a stirring position and an inactive position.

  • Patent number: 4529513
Abstract: A waste digestion unit which comprises a container, a waste inlet into the container, an outlet from the container for digested waste, a gas bleed outlet from the container and a stirrer for stirring the contents of the container. The inlet, waste outlet, bleed outlet and stirrer are arranged so that the container can be mounted in position and partially filled with waste to a level defined by the waste outlet to provide a gas space above the waste. In this position of the container the bleed outlet is above the waste level and, the inlet discharges into the container below the waste level. The stirrer is capable of stirring the waste at said waste level and below said waste level.

  • Patent number: 4519714
Abstract: An apparatus for agitating a fluid that contains a sludge-like material which is stored in an enclosure, such as a pit, storage tank or pond, includes an elongated frame with a motor and a propeller pivotally mounted within a guard at a lower end of the frame, a linkage assembly attached at one end to the motor and the propeller, and a handle pivotally mounted at an upper end of the frame and connected to the other end of the linkage assembly. The motor and propeller are pivotally mounted so that the propeller is pivotable in a generally vertical direction between a first position, generally along the axis of the frame, and a second upward position, angularly displaced from the first position, for directing the agitation caused by the propeller. In addition, the motor and propeller are mounted within the guard so that the propeller is prevented from hitting the floor of the enclosure when the apparatus is rotated about its longitudinal axis.
