  • Patent number: 4357109
Abstract: A mixer for concrete or other materials has a bowl rotatably mounted on a frame provided with handles and with support means, which, by moving the frame to one position, will hold the bowl in a charging and mixing position supported clear of the ground, its axis inclining up to its mouth. The frame can also be moved to bring the bowl to a travelling position to be propelled along the ground, its axis inclining upwardly towards the mouth. To discharge the mixer, the frame is movable to a further position, the bowl supported by the support means, above the ground with its axis inclining downwardly towards its mouth. The bowl may be rotated, when in mixing or travelling or discharging position, by a motor on the frame and operatively connected to the bowl, the mixer being steered by the handles when propelled with the bowl in travelling position.

  • Patent number: 4223997
Abstract: A mixer particularly designed for light, domestic use is provided. The mixer includes a base frame, a mixing drum, and a handle, all of which are readily assembled and disassembled for easy transportation, even in an automobile. The drum is supported on the base frame with a three-point suspension, including an axle rotatably carried by the base frame and two rollers on the base frame which engage the drum in a position spaced from the axle toward a discharge opening of the drum. The drum is of one-piece construction and has a ring gear formed of integral, circumjacent teeth, with the axis of rotation of the drum and the gear being at an angle to the horizontal. An electric motor is mounted on the base frame directly below the drum and has a drive shaft parallel to the axis of rotation of the drum and gear with a pinion gear engagable with the integral, circumjacent drum teeth. The drum can be readily lifted off the base frame and the handle also can separated therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4197015
Abstract: A portable mixing apparatus has a carriage assembly with at least a platform section and an upwardly extending handle section connected thereto, and the mixing apparatus can be manually moved. At least two roller assemblies having roller members therein are mounted on the platform section in predetermined spaced relation to each other for operative association with a bearing assembly which is preferably mounted for limited linear floating movement in the handle section, and with the outer surface of a mixing bowl to be mounted on said roller members. An axle extends from the closed end of the mixing bowl and when the mixing bowl is mounted in the roller members the axle will be aligned with and can be detachably connected in the bearing assembly so that the axis of rotation of the mixing bowl is substantially parallel to the plane of the platform.

  • Patent number: 4134686
Abstract: A portable cement mixer is provided with an improved supporting frame. The supporting frame includes a first, generally triangularly-shaped end frame comprising two upwardly-converging struts and intermediate cross struts. The second end frame comprises a single upright member. A transverse strut connects a central portion of the cross struts of the first end frame with an intermediate portion of the upright strut of the second end frame. The transverse strut is of rectangular cross section but varying in width and thickness from one end to the other. The new supporting frame is of simple construction and is easier to assemble. It is also sturdier and provides a three-point support for the mixer which can be more readily adapted to uneven ground.
