A control system may receive inputs related to system parameters (e.g., pressure of polymeric material in extruder, axial position of screw in barrel, whether screw is rotating, and the like) and based on the inputs coordinates operation of the valves to confine and introduce the blowing agent dose(s). The introduction systems may be used in discontinuous plasticating processes, such as injection molding and blow molding, and can be particularly useful in processes that use precise quantities of blowing agent.

Abstract: An extrusion conveying apparatus, including an extruder that operates as a mixing device and is laterally supplied with components that are to be mixed, in particular components of a rubber mixture or thermoplastic elastomer. A volumetrically operating conveyor, in particular a gear pump, is connected to the output side of the extruder. A rotational speed or feed rate of the extruder is adjustable independently of the feed rate and volume flow of the conveyor. n?1 volumetric subsidiary conveyors are provided for passage of components therethrough where there are n components of a mixture. In particular component n is supplied in an undosed manner. A rotational speed or feed rate of the subsidiary conveyors is adjustable independently of the feed rate of the volumetrically operating conveyor.

Abstract: An apparatus for filling a screw (7) bearingly supported within a housing (6), in particular of an extruder, for processing of pre-comminuted synthetic plastics material, in particular PET, has a filling opening (5) for the screw housing (6). This filling opening (5) is in flow connection with the lower outflow opening (4) of an upright receptacle 81) for the material to be processed. Within the receptacle (1), tools (30, 31) circulate around a, preferably vertical, axis, which tool act onto the material positioned within the receptacle (1). This material is introduced into the evacuable receptacle (1) through a sluice (60). A quickly circulating tool (30) for creating a mixing cone (71) is disposed between an upper interior portion (68) and a lower interior portion (69) of the receptacle (1).

Abstract: The invention provides an injection molding capable of adjusting a detection level with a simple structure and detecting a deposit level of the resin pellets near a plasticizing screw. A cooling jacket is mounted so that a resin supplying hole of the cooling jacket communicates with a resin supplying hole of a heating cylinder. A sensor head mounted on a sensor mounting plate is inserted into the resin supplying hole through a sensor insertion port provided on a hopper plate and a resin inlet and detects the deposit level of the resin pellets deposited in the resin supplying hole. Changing the extent of insertion of the sensor head enables the resin pellets deposit detection level to be changed, and further, enables the deposit level near the outer periphery of the screw to be detected. Setting the sensor detection direction perpendicular to the resin deposit direction enables dirtying of the sensor detection surface by the resin pellets to be reduced, thus enabling erroneous detection readings to be reduced.
