Patent number: 6913379Abstract: With conventional closed kneaders, the temperature of the kneaded material remains high at the end of primary kneading because insufficient cooling is made in the interior part of the kneaded material, making it necessary to either provide cooling time between the primary and secondary kneading or to transfer materials to another kneader after the end of primary kneading for the secondary kneading. This has constituted an obstruction to productivity. In view of such problems, a closed kneader is capable of controlling the kneaded material temperature at the end of primary kneading at a level no higher than the temperature that allows addition of a vulcanizing agent line, and can perform secondary kneading immediately after the end of primary kneading. In a closed kneader provided with a chamber for storing kneaded material and a pair of rotors installed in the chamber, the proportion of the radius of the rotor shaft to the radius on the inner face of the chamber is kept at no less than 0.65.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2002Date of Patent: July 5, 2005Assignees: Moriyama Co., Ltd., Nihon Spindle Mfg. Patent number: 6644845Abstract: The present invention relates to a buffer tank as is substantially used for ensuring a constant supply of the spinning machine with a polymer melt in spinning machines. To this end the buffer tank is provided with a compensation chamber whose volume is variable in response to a pressure prevailing in the polymer melt and to a volume flow variation. The polymer melt flows from a polymer melt entry opening to a polymer melt exit opening through the compensation chamber. It is the object of the present invention to make the flow through the compensation chamber uniform. The residence time of the polymer melt in the compensation chamber shall thereby be prevented from having a wide range, the latter resulting in an irregular quality of the yarns produced by the spinning machine because of the time-dependent, mechanical and chemical properties of the polymer melt.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2002Date of Patent: November 11, 2003Assignee: Zimmer A.G.Inventors: Stefan Zikeli, Michael Longin, Friedrich Ecker

Publication number: 20030063520Abstract: A charging device includes a feed pipe, constructed for connection to a plasticizing unit of an injection-moulding machine, and a compaction cylinder, which has a lower end supported by the feed pipe and an upper end received in a retaining flange to which a support plate is attached, whereby the upper end of the compaction cylinder, the retaining flange and the support plate extend in a same plane. Support pillars bear two parallel displacement rails fixed to the retaining flange. A support base is displaceable on these displacement rails between two positions and supports a compaction ram and a storage container. A hydraulic adjustment cylinder moves the compaction ram and the storage container alternately in alignment with the compaction cylinder. To gain access to the feed pipe for cleaning during material change, the compaction cylinder is coupled to the compaction ram to form a structural unit which can be raised upwards.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 18, 2002Publication date: April 3, 2003Applicant: KRAUSS-MAFFEI KUNSTSTOFFTECHNIK GMBHInventor: Peter Lieb
