  • Patent number: 11197753
Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve either of the mechanical type or the bio prosthetic type, comprises a tubular or cylindrical frame element, a plurality of injectors, a suturing member surrounding the tubular or cylindrical frame element, tether lines to secure the device during diastolic filling but more predominantly during systolic contraction that creates a vortex effect with externally supplied pressurized fluid injected angularly within a transport structure is provided. Such a unit is utilized to accelerate the hemodynamics, reduce the energy required for said transport or both. The annular frame is designed to allow a passageway for blood flow and regulating flow during systolic contraction. Such a result is achieved through the introduction of pressurized fluid (blood) via a plurality of injectors situated evenly around the circumference of the subject tubular or cylindrical unit, and angled uniformly for an even pressure injection of fluid within the conveyance component thereof.

  • Patent number: 6146575
Abstract: An extruder for plasticizing and extruding a material. The extruder is formed from two interfitted orbital scroll members. Material, usually in a solid state, can be fed between the scroll members. As the scroll members are rotated eccentrically with respect to one another, the material is conveyed toward the center of the scroll members within a pocket of ever decreasing volume. This applies shear energy to the material which causes melting. Heaters can be provided in the scroll members to further aid and control the melting. By the time the material reaches the central output, it is in a molten state and can be extruded through an output. A method for extruding, and an injection molding machine using such an extruder to plasticize plastic resin, such as PET, is also described.

  • Patent number: 4124307
Abstract: A highly viscous mass to be homogenized is fed from a screw plasticizer into a mixing chamber, perpendicular to the plasticizer mouth, in which a mandrel rotates independently of the plasticizer screw to masticate the mass in a narrow annular clearance between itself and the chamber wall. The mass, force-fed through this clearance by the screw pressure, encounters several sets of free-floating balls or other rotary bodies loosely guided in annular grooves of the chamber wall, or of the mandrel, while revolving about the mandrel axis. The mandrel may have a screw-threaded rearward extension for admixing additional ingredients from one or more further chamber inlets with the mass to be homogenized, with exertion of a back-up pressure upon that mass. The chamber temperature may be controlled by the circulation of a cooling fluid through its wall and/or through the mandrel.
