Patent number: 6519208Abstract: A locking timer assembly for controlling access time for a television, video game, or computer, employs a lockable enclosure box that attaches onto a wall outlet in place of the usual face plate. The volume inside the box encloses a standard 24-hour on-off timer. The box attaches to the outlet by the usual single screw. The cordset for the controlled device plugs into the timer, and then the cord exits the enclosure via a passage, such as a slit, but the slit does not permit passage of the plug. As an added safety feature, there can be a quick-disconnect plunger so that the timer device can be forced out (e.g., by wedge action) from the associated wall outlet. The plunger has a head portion extending outside the enclosure, and can be pushed in using the fingers. Once this is done, the timer cannot be plugged back in until the enclosure is unlocked and opened.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2000Date of Patent: February 11, 2003Inventor: Paul DeVries

Patent number: 5528562Abstract: In a mimic watch having hour numerals "1" to "12" marked therein, a rotary disk having an hour hand fixed thereon is installed rotatably. When used for a play, the mimic watch is put into a protective case. Watching the hour hand and numerals through the rear transparent case member of the protective case, the player operates an operating string loop, with care for the audience not to be aware of the player's operation, to set the hour hand to a numeral the audience has selected. At this time, only the hour numerals will be visible through the transparent area on the front transparent case member of the protective case but an opaque area formed on the front transparent case member will hide the hour hand on the rotary disk being rotated. When the mimic watch taken out of the protective case is shown to the audience, the audience will see the hour hand point at the numeral he or see has selected, which will give the audience an illusion that the mimic watch has automatically pointed at that numeral.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 1995Date of Patent: June 18, 1996Assignee: Tenyo Co., Ltd.Inventor: Tooru Suzuki

Patent number: 4964093Abstract: In one form of the structure for preventing inadvertent opening of a cover lid of a water-proof watch, a protrusion formed on the cover lid is locked into a recess formed at a head of a lock button. A coil spring is attached to the lock button to bias the same to maintain the engagement between the recess of the lock button and the protrusion of the cover lid so as to prevent inaduertent opening or unlocking of the cover lid. In another form of the opening and closing mechanism of a cover lid, a rod member is provided with a water-tight sealing and a coil spring, and operates to apply a pressing force to a hinge portion of the cover lid to assist in closing of the cover lid, thereby realizing simplified water-tight structure of the opening and closing of the cover lid.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1990Date of Patent: October 16, 1990Assignee: Seiko Instruments Inc.Inventors: Haruki Hiranuma, Nobuhide Matsumoto

Patent number: 4916679Abstract: A sports wrist watch protector comprising a continuous band portion, dependent side portions and a central aperture transverse to the length of the band through which the watch crystal and encircling bezel may be accessed. The band portion comprises an elastomeric fabric of laminate material for universal sizing. The elastomeric fabric of nylon, lycra, terry, plush or velcro laminated on one or both sides to a neoprene core, having differential stretch, with stretch along one axis greater than the perpendicular axis. The length of the band (circumference) is oriented along the greatest stretch axis so that upon stretching the depending side edges curl around the watch band. The central aperture is perpendicular to the band axis (circumference) and is either oval or rectangular in shape in the relaxed position, so that it stretches in the operative position to a round or square shape to conform with the shape of the wearer's watch.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 1988Date of Patent: April 10, 1990Inventor: Mark S.
