  • Patent number: 5590483
Abstract: An improved implement attaching device for construction equipment is disclosed. The device has an implement mount link hinged to the arm of the construction equipment. A first bracket is provided on the rear wall of the implement and supports the link. A pair of key holes are provided on opposite sides of the first bracket. A pair of keys are provided on the link such that the keys are horizontally movable relative to the link to be inserted into or taken out of the key holes and thereby detachably attaching the implement to the implement mount link. The device also has a lever and a linkage for linearly moving the keys horizontally. The linkage achieves a pantographic motion in accordance with a turning motion of the lever and detachably attaches the implement to the link.

  • Patent number: 5561926
Abstract: The present invention relates particularly to an articulating mounting for positioning a rock saw for cutting rock, in particular for the building industry.Rock saw mountings are known which enable mounting of a rock saw blade to an hydraulic arm of a conventional excavator. Conventionally, the rock saw is mounted so it is fixed to either one side or other of the hydraulic arm. The angle of the rock saw relative to the hydraulic arm cannot be varied. The present invention provides a mounting which enables three degrees of freedom of motion of the rock saw, to enable it to be fixed at predetermined angles to make predetermined desired angular cuts into rock. The rock saw may be moved from one side of the arm to the other in order to cut trenches without it being necessary to reposition the excavator. The mounting may also be used as a support for tools other than a rock saw.

  • Patent number: 5549440
Abstract: An improved coupler assembly adapted for connecting a work implement to a prime mover. The main body portion of the coupler assembly has laterally spaced side plates, each of which includes first and second mounting-pin receiving slots having open mouths and apices. The mouths are adapted sequentially to receive first and second mounting pins secured to the work implement. The first slot is longer than the second slot, and the first slot incorporates a locating structure adapted to retain the first mounting pin within the mouths of the first slots before the second mounting pin is capable of being received within the mouths of the second slots. A locking sub-assembly having a rotator member extends laterally between the apices of the first slots. The rotator is mounted for rotation between a first and a second position. The rotator is adapted to engage the first mounting pin, when the rotator is in its first position, to retain the first mounting pin within the apices of the first slots.

  • Patent number: 5494396
Abstract: In the operation of construction machinery, it is often desirable to be able to utilize a variety of implements on a single machine. While it extremely important to be able to attach and detach these implement very quickly, many mechanisms suffer trade-offs in a variety of design parameters. The coupling device of the subject invention utilizes a locking arrangement that provides a positive coupling force upon initial engagement of the device and maintains the positive force throughout the entire operation of each work implement. All of the components in the coupling device are maintained in linear alignment with the mounting components of the machine linkage to reduce the magnitude of operational forces transmitted therebetween and to provide a device that is extremely compact and versatile in design.
