  • Patent number: 11337165
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for power control are disclosed for in-device coexistence (IDC). According to an embodiment, a first radio access technology (RAT) unit measures a metric indicating relative strength of traffic received by the first RAT unit with respect to IDC interference from a second RAT unit that is co-located with the first RAT unit on a user equipment (UE). The first RAT unit determines whether a condition to adjust transmission power of the second RAT unit is satisfied based at least on the measured metric. When the condition is satisfied, an adjustment indication related to a desired adjustment of the transmission power is generated based at least on the measured metric. The adjustment indication is sent to the second RAT unit.

  • Patent number: 11334655
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for authenticating a device using a remote host are described. In some systems, a management server may identify a software update for a device and transmit a notification that the software update is sent to the device. In some cases, the system may also include a field server. The field server may receive the notification and set a flag, in a memory, that indicates an association between the device and the software update. The field server may receive, from the device, a connection request that includes a certificate associated with a key for authenticating the device and accept the key as valid based on the flag indicating the update to the software.

  • Patent number: 11330512
Abstract: A software application executing on a server and communicating with an agent in a wireless access point predicts a type of a computing device wirelessly connected via a radio frequency link to the wireless access point. The application receives an indication of a model of the computing device from the wireless access point, and further receives one or more characteristics of the computing device from the wireless access point. The application then predicts the type of the computing device associated with the one or more of the indication of the model, and characteristics, of the computing device.

  • Patent number: 11329756
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive broadcast information from a base station indicating a numerology or a reference signal (RS) pattern to be used in broadcast or multicast transmissions (e.g., a physical multicast channel (PMCH)). The UE may identify a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) associated with the broadcast or multicast transmission and may determine a transport block size (TBS) based on the MCS and at least one of the numerology or the RS pattern. For instance, a UE may determine TBS for numerologies associated with a single symbol that spans multiple subframes differently from that of other numerologies. Additionally or alternatively, a UE may determine TBS for sparse RS patterns differently from that of other RS patterns. The UE may then perform communication with the base station via the broadcast or multicast transmissions in accordance with the TBS.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate, in some examples, to a method performed by a wireless device (10) for handling communication of the wireless device (10) in a multicarrier operation in a wireless communication network (1), wherein the wireless device (10) is configured with a discontinuous reception cycle and is served by a first serving cell and is served or expected to be served by a secondary serving cell. The secondary serving cell is provided on a lean carrier wherein reference signals are transmitted with a bandwidth that is variable between a first bandwidth and a second bandwidth, wherein the second bandwidth is narrower than the first bandwidth. The wireless device receives on the secondary serving cell, one or more reference signals assumed by the wireless device (10) to have been transmitted on the secondary serving cell over the second bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 11271997
Abstract: Connecting user equipment (UE) to an application can be managed based on UE movement and location. During data session between UE and application, a communication management component (CMC) associated with anchor network component (ANC) or serving network component (SNC) determines UE location, and connects UE to the ANC and SNC, which enables access of the application via a data network associated with ANC. As UE moves, CMC tracks UE movement and communication conditions. If, when UE is at second location, a communication condition breaches threshold level, CMC determines whether interruption of the data session is permitted. If not, CMC determines whether there is a local SNC in proximity to second location. If there is, CMC can switch UE from SNC to local SNC, which can access local application content via local data network associated with application. If interruption permitted, UE deactivates and reactivates to connect to local ANC.

Abstract: Some embodiments enable improved packet error rate (PER), signal to noise ratio (SNR), channel capacity, aggregated throughput, and communication range in wireless communication systems. For example, an electronic device includes a buffer that stores a first descrambled bit estimate sequence. The electronic device further includes an encoder that receives a descrambling sequence and generates an encoded descrambling sequence and a multiplier circuit that receives a bit estimate sequence and the encoded descrambling sequence and generates a second descrambled bit estimate sequence. The electronic device also includes an adder circuit that combines the first descrambled bit estimate sequence and the second descrambled bit estimate sequence and a decoder that decodes the combined descrambled bit estimate sequence.

  • Patent number: 11271781
Abstract: Some embodiments of the present disclosure provide control signaling mechanisms to support data transmission by a user equipment (UE) that is in the RRC_INACTIVE state and, more generally, in any inactive state. Beyond simply supporting data transmission by a user equipment that is in the RRC_INACTIVE state, aspects of the present application provide mechanisms for configuring the UE for preamble transmission or sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission and for toggling between such transmissions. Aspects of the present application relate to mechanisms for enabling Timing Advance estimation, which mechanisms are not burdened with high overhead and which allow the UE to remain in the RRC_INACTIVE state.

  • Patent number: 11265286
Abstract: In one embodiment, a service maintains a database of media access control (MAC) addresses of devices in a network and their associated telemetry data captured from the network. The service identifies a new MAC address being used by a particular device in the network. The service matches telemetry data associated with the new MAC address with telemetry data in the database associated with another MAC address, by using the telemetry data associated with the new MAC address as input to a machine learning-based classifier. The service determines, based on the matching, that the MAC address in the database associated with the matched telemetry data has been updated to the new MAC address by the particular device.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a broadcast multicast service center (BMSC) device may receive, from a user equipment (UE) and via a first base station associated with a first radio access technology (RAT), a request for evolved multicast broadcast multimedia service (eMBMS) content. The BMSC device may transmit, to an access and mobility management function (AMF) device, a redirection request or a handover request, associated with the UE, from the first base station to a second base station associated with a second RAT. The BMSC device may transmit, to the UE and based at least in part on the UE being redirected or handed over to the second base station, the eMBMS content via the second base station. Numerous other aspects are provided.
