  • Patent number: 8359033
Abstract: A system and method of supporting packet-switched handover of a mobile station (MS) from a GERAN/UTRAN cell to a Generic Access Network (GAN) cell within a GAN. If the MS is within coverage of the GAN cell, the MS registers within the GAN triggering initiation of the packet-switched handover from the GERAN/UTRAN cell to the GAN cell. A preparation phase is then conducted for executing the packet-switched handover. The preparation phase includes identifying the MS context as part of the preparation phase and activating the GA-PSR TC towards the MS. Next, the packet-switched handover is executed, resulting in the MS switching to GAN mode. The MS then begins transferring packets via the GAN cell. The system and method also supports a packet-switched handover from the GAN cell to the GERAN/UTRAN cell.

Abstract: The present invention provides an information processing system enabled to transmit and receive video mails at a higher transfer rate and at reduced cost. In this system, a file server sends a low capacity notification mail, which notifies the presence of a video mail sent from a portable terminal, to another portable terminal. • Patent number: 7742484
Abstract: A Fibre Channel router used to join fabrics. EX_ports are used to connect to the fabrics. The EX_port joins the fabric but the router will not merge into the fabric. Ports in the Fibre Channel router can be in a fabric, but other ports can be connected to other fabrics. Fibre Channel routers can be interconnected using a backbone fabric. Global, interfabric and encapsulation headers are developed to allow routing by conventional Fibre Channel switch devices in the backbone fabric and simplify Fibre Channel router routing. Phantom domains and devices must be developed for each of the fabrics being interconnected. Front phantom domains are present at each port directly connected to a fabric. Each of these is then connected to at least one translate phantom domain. Zoning is accomplished by use of a special LSAN zoning naming convention. This allows each administrator to independently define devices are accessible.

  • Patent number: 6765920
Abstract: A push-type information service to a client located within a local network and having only a local IP address becomes possible via a network address converting apparatus. A network address conversion program implementing the network address converting process may be stored on a storage medium. When assignment of an Internet IP address to a client is requested by a host server, an IP address assigning unit assigns an Internet IP address to that client. An address conversion table producing unit produces an address conversion table describing the correspondence between the Internet IP address assigned to the client and the local IP address of the client. An address converter notifies the host server of the assigned Internet IP address. After that, if the host server sends data to the acquired Internet IP address, the address converter converts the destination of the data to the corresponding local IP address of the client by referring to the address conversion table.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for assigning an IP address to a mobile node during registration are disclosed. According to one aspect, a registration request is sent by a mobile node. A mobile node ID associated with the mobile node is obtained. A registration request packet is then composed. The registration request packet stores at least a portion of the mobile node ID in the registration request packet. The registration request packet is sent to a Home Agent associated with the mobile node. According to another aspect, a registration request packet is processed by a Home Agent. • Patent number: 6452920
Abstract: In accordance with embodiments of the invention, Mobile IP binding information is used to deliver mobile terminating packets using layer-2 tunneling. When terminating packets destined for a mobile node are received by a home network for the mobile node, the Mobile IP binding is used to obtain the address of a foreign network to which the mobile node is attached. A Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol tunnel is created between the home network and the foreign network, and an outgoing L2TP call is made from the home network to the foreign network. A call is made from the foreign network to the mobile node, and a PPP session is established between the home network and the mobile node, via the Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol tunnel between the home network and the foreign network. After the PPP session is established the home network can optionally assign the mobile node a private IP address, and translate the home IP address labeling the terminating packets to the private IP address.

More specifically, the present invention provides a computer based psychographic matching system that is significantly more effective and convenient for the advertiser. In the present invention, when a person places a personal ad on the system, either via a telephone or via the Internet, the person creates a personal psychographic profile (a subjective makeup of preferences) of himself by selecting his preference for various items, such as musical pieces, environmental sounds, poetry selections, etc. At the conclusion of the profiling process, the system automatically finds other advertisers (whether they placed their ad via audiotext or the Internet) whose profiles match the new advertiser's profile.
