Abstract: Media content comprises video. The video comprises a sequence of scenes comprising pictures. The media content comprises segments. A method determines when a scene change between a first scene and a second, subsequent, scene occurs within a predetermined proximity to a boundary between segments. When a scene change occurs within a predetermined proximity of an end of a segment, at least a first picture in the second scene is discarded and an additional picture is inserted in the first scene. When a scene change occurs within a predetermined proximity of a start of a segment, at least one picture in the first scene is discarded and an additional picture is inserted in the second scene. The additional picture can be a repeat or a copy of an existing picture, or it can be based on at least one existing picture in the first scene, such as by interpolation.
Abstract: According to an example, a series of video frames may be accessed, in which a first set of the video frames depicts segments of an entity moving relative to other entities in the video frames and wherein a second set of the video frames depicts static content. In addition, the video frames in the first set of video frames may be generated into animated image files and the video frames in the second set of video frames into single image files. Furthermore, the animated image files and the single image files may be arranged into an interactive slide deck.

Abstract: A method of encoding a local time base embedded in the compressed data is disclosed. The local time base is encoded in two parts. The first part has a modulo time base that indicates the specific interval in the reference time base and the second part has a time base increment relative to the reference time. Two forms of time base increment is used to allow for the possibility of different encoding order and displaying order. A mechanism for the synchronization of multiple compressed streams with local time base is also described. A time base offset mechanism is also used to allow finer granularity synchronization of the multiple compressed streams.
