Plural Selectable Patents (Class 378/148)
  • Patent number: 4788699
Abstract: A dental X-ray diagnostic installation for producing panoramic tomograms of the jaw of a patient is provided with a multiple diaphragm part having a plurality of different diaphragm apertures which can be adjusted to be positioned into a beam path from the X-ray source to enable producing different exposures. Preferably, the multiple diaphragm part is mounted for rotation on an axis so that the diaphragm apertures can be respectively aligned to the beam path of the radiation source. The multiple diaphragm part can be either a one-piece diaphragm member having a cylindrical configuration, a multiple piece member having a disk configuration, or can be a box-shaped carrier carrying a plurality of diaphragm inserts.

  • Patent number: 4758726
Abstract: A collimator exchanging system for exchanging collimators between an active holding device (14) and a storage device (8) includes a cart (5) which is provided with a catching/locking device (26) for the collimator. The device (26) is constructed so that the collimator can be exchanged only in the correct orientation of the cart relative to the active device or the storage device. An unlocking pin (34) of the cart enables the exchange with the exchanging system otherwise being blocked.

  • Patent number: 4679221
Abstract: A collimator blade assembly for a computed tomographic X-ray scanner comprising a blade of X-ray beam stopping material having an aperture for passing X-rays and an X-ray penetrable member closing at least a portion of that aperture to reinforce the material and thereby minimize collimator blade/detector clearances while preventing undesirable collimator blade vibration.

  • Patent number: 4672652
Abstract: The invention relates to a radiodiagnostic apparatus with an x-ray tube, a diaphragm which is semitransparent at least areawise and which clears a slit variable in its width and letting the radiation go through, with an x-ray image intensifier and a television camera coupled thereto for the generation of video signals which is connected to a monitor for reproduction of the video signals. The diaphragm consists of several individual blades which abut against one another in parallel on both sides of the slit and are adjustable in longitudinal direction individually dependent on the size of the object to be viewed. To the television camera an evaluating circuit is connected which supplies a control signal obtained from the video signal to a setting device for the individual blades.

  • Patent number: 4620105
Abstract: A device for attaching a collimator to a radiation detector. A number of cleats are mounted at the radiation detector for cleating the collimator to the radiation detector and a latch means serves for latching the cleated collimator against rotation. Also a collimator cleating detection means is associated with the cleat means for detecting incorrect cleating of the collimator and a collimator latch detection means is associated with the latch means for detecting incorrect latching of the collimator.

  • Patent number: 4606063
Abstract: A shutter arrangement for intra-oral radiographic X-ray apparatus comprises a substantially punctiform X-ray source (1), a radiation-screening and radiation-directing X-ray tube (3), a holder (10) for holding an object and an X-ray film or plate, the holder being located externally of the X-ray radiation exit orifice of the X-ray tube, and being adjustable in at least two positions in a direction transversely of the direction of radiation, for producing at least two pictures of the object in two mutually different positions relative to the radiation direction. The arrangement also includes a shutter (7c) which is arranged between the X-ray source (1) and the holder (10) and which has a shutter aperture which is adapted to the size of the X-ray film or plate used. The shutter (7c) comprises an apertured metal plate arranged in the exit orifice of the X-ray tube (3) for displacement in a slide-track arrangement (6), in a direction transversely to the direction of the radiation.

  • Patent number: 4578585
Abstract: A first pinhole and an associated first pin and also a second pinhole and an associated second pin are mounted between a detector head and a detector head supporting structure such that the first pinhole and the first pin are concentric with a first axis and the second pinhole and the second pin are concentric with a second axis. The pins can be shifted relatively to each other along each axis in opposite directions, so that when one pin intrudes in its pinhole the other pin is located outside its pinhole. The axis of the intruding pin defines the trunnion axis of the detector head.

  • Patent number: 4577107
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for mounting a detector head including a collimator onto supporting structure of a radiation detector for rotation about a selected one of a plurality of trunnion axes, the selection being made so that rotation occurs about the trunnion axis which passes nearest to the center of gravity of the head. A first rotatable member is mounted to the supporting structure for rotation about a first trunnion axis and a second rotatable member is mounted to the first rotatable member for rotation about a second trunnion axis. A key mounted on the first rotatable member shifts between protrusion into a first key slot located on the supporting structure and a second key slot located on the second rotatable member. The shifting mechanism is locked when the detector head is in a position other than a collimator changing position.
