Abstract: According to one embodiment, a signal processing apparatus correlates a plurality of communication terminals as a group and enables one-to-many communications in the group. The signal processing apparatus includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry assigns a transmission right to one of the communication terminals in the group. The processing circuitry generates text data based on voice data from said one of the communication terminals in possession of the transmission right. The processing circuitry gives a texting completion notice indicative of completion of texting processing to the communication terminals in the group. The processing circuitry transmits, after the texting completion notice is given, the generated text data to at least one of the communication terminals in the group.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, a dialogue system includes a satisfaction estimator, a dialogue state estimator, and a behavior determiner. The satisfaction estimator estimates a satisfaction of a user based on a speech input from the user. The dialogue state estimator estimates a dialogue state with the user based on the speech input from the user and the estimated satisfaction of the user. The behavior determiner determines a behavior towards the user based on the estimated dialogue state.

Abstract: A toner container installable in an image forming device having a controller according to one example embodiment includes a housing having a reservoir for storing toner. A chip is positioned on the housing and configured to, after sending a first busy response to the controller of the image forming device, receive a second write command from the controller of the image forming device that is abbreviated relative to a first write command received from the controller of the image forming device and that requests the chip to send a response to the first write command. The chip is further configured to send a response to the first write command to the controller of the image forming device if upon receiving a read command corresponding to the second write command the chip has completed processing the first write command.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a user interface overlay. In one embodiment, a toolbar remains visible and can be selected at any time to activate the interface overlay. The interface overlay provides an easily visible list computing options, such as contacts, that overlays the entire display area. The background of the overlay may be semi-transparent so that underlying windows are still visible, but the list is highlighted. The list includes selectable display elements with display characteristics, such as size or color, that indicate one or more attributes associated with the corresponding computing options, such as a frequency of interaction with certain contacts. In one embodiment, groups of contacts can be sorted or filtered by the attributes before display. Each selectable display element identifies a contact and may indicate a current availability. A user selects a display element to initiate communication, such as an instant messaging chat session.

Abstract: A real-time speech analytics system (“RSTA system”) detects speech during a call involving a contact center agent and a remote party. Upon detecting the speech, an event message is generated by the RTSA system and transmitted to a module, which is configured to generate a topic meta-data record stored in a topic meta-data file. A real-time topic dashboard indication may be presented on a graphical user interface to a user based on analysis of a plurality of topic meta-data records. Selection of the topic dashboard indicator may result in presentation to the user of further text-based information about detection of the speech event for one or more calls. Selection of the further information for a particular call may result in a corresponding portion of recorded audio of that call associated with the speech event to be retrieved using the corresponding topic meta-data record and played to the user.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relates to a computer implemented method for executing application code to connect with a social networking website, the method including analyzing information from at least a user that is in conversation. At least a word is filtered from the analyzed information. A tag is generated from the filtered word. The tag is connected with at least a media file that is relevant to the tag and displayed in the social networking website.

Abstract: An outer event stream can be modeled to represent duration for an event with an inner event stream. The inner event stream can be generated to represent duration of at least one event from the outer event stream. By modeling the outer event stream to include duration, coincidence between two or more events can be determined. More specifically, the modeling of the outer event stream enables use of operators to identify coincidence between events from event streams.

An apparatus for measuring Quality of Service (QoS) of Fax over Internet Protocol (FoIP) calls includes: a FoIP packet monitoring module to monitor in real-time Internet Protocol (IP) network streams exchanged between a FoIP emitter device and a FoIP receiver device; a FoIP equipment evaluator to evaluate real-time performance of at least one of: the FoIP emitter device, and the FoIP receiver device; and a FoIP call QoS evaluator to evaluate in real time a FoIP call QoS quality of a FoIP communication between said FoIP emitter device and said FoIP receiver device.

Abstract: Techniques for transmitting information to a recipient under their control are described. Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for using voiceprint technology in CALEA surveillance. A media-analysis platform receives packets from a bearer element, the packets comprising media data representing a copy of at least part of a real-time media session. The bearer element is configured to initially send to the platform a copy of each of a plurality of media sessions that traverse the bearer element, and to stop sending a copy of a particular session in response to receiving an instruction from the platform. Responsive to receiving the packets, the platform compares the media data to at least one media-data profile, where each profile is associated with a target of surveillance. The platform determines whether the data matches any of the profiles. If the data does not match any of the profiles, the platform sends an instruction to the bearer element to stop sending the copy of the session.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and logic (encoded within a computer-readable tangible storage media) are provided for detecting, at an intermediate device, a presence of a delay for a fax communication between a source device and a destination device in a network. The delay for the fax communication is sufficient to produce a failure of a corresponding fax operation. The intermediate device includes a buffer to receive packets and is disposed in the network between the source and destination devices. A first time value of the buffer is adjusted at the intermediate device in response to detection of the delay to modify the delay to be within a range enabling the corresponding fax operation to be performed.

Abstract: When a facsimile transmission is carried over a packet network such as the Internet that disallows the use of non-standard facilities with which the facsimile terminals may be provided, a communication apparatus that mediates the transmission blocks signals requesting the use of non-standard facilities, but replaces the blocked signals with modified data not requesting the use of such facilities. Consequently, even if a facsimile terminal sends a lengthy non-standard facilities signal, the facsimile terminal with which it is communicating will not time out due to non-reception of data, and the facsimile transmission can be completed using standard facilities.

Abstract: A communication interface unit of a facsimile and a transformer for preventing a power source noise. The communication interface unit includes the transformer between a line unit and a MODEM for electrically separating the circuit boards of the line unit and the MODEM for preventing the power source noise causing data transmission error from flowing into the line unit. Also, a method for bonding the ferrite core and the housing in order to prevent damage to the transformer caused by an external force and minimizing generation of capacitance component by bonding. The bonding method can be more effectively implemented when an integrated circuit type data access arrangement circuit is used for accessing the PSTN. The present invention can prevent distortion of data generated by power source noise such as EFT and also prevent the ferrite core slipping off from the housing.

Abstract: A communication apparatus is disposed at a target place for use in monitoring of sounds. An input section collects various sounds generated at the target place. The collected sounds contain a first type of sound information which should be monitored and a second type of sound information which should not be monitored. The input section converts the collected sounds into a signal capable of conveying the sound information. A signal processing section processes the signal for creating ambiguous sound information by masking, trimming or modifying the second type of the sound information. A transmission section transmits the processed signal to a remote place, where the sounds are reproduced from the transmitted signal and the first type of the sound information is monitored, while the second type of the sound information is not monitored, since the second type of the sound information is altered to the ambiguous sound information.

Abstract: According to a first aspect of the present invention, a method for enforcing a distribution policy with respect to information transmitted from a sending fax machine to a recipient fax machine as fax traffic is presented. The method comprising defining an information distribution policy with respect to the fax traffic, then monitoring the fax traffic in accordance with the distribution policy, where the monitoring comprising: (i) de-modulating the fax traffic being monitored into a digital stream; (ii) reconstructing from the digital stream a graphic image representing at least part of the information within the fax traffic; and (iii) analyzing information within the reconstructed image, and then applying the distribution policy with respect to the analyzed fax traffic.
