Abstract: The voice advertisement delivery system includes a user terminal, an advertiser terminal, and a voice advertisement delivery server. The voice advertisement delivery server receives designation of a preferred location to which voice advertisement is delivered from the advertiser terminal and acquires user location information indicating the location of a user and user direction information indicating the direction of the user. The user location information is transmitted to the voice advertisement delivery server. The advertisement location information and voice advertisement data are delivered to the user terminal when the user location information approaches the designated advertisement location information and satisfies a predetermined condition. The user terminal operates spatial sound and reproduces the voice advertisement.

Abstract: To verify compliance with a data access policy, a query result including data specified by a requesting entity and a representation of a data access policy is received from a database. Based on the representation of the data access policy included in the query result, it is verified whether the requesting entity is permitted to access the data included in the query result. Transmission of the data included in the query result to the requesting entity is controlled responsive to the verification. Related methods, systems, and computer program products are also discussed.

Abstract: IoT twinning groups can be dynamically created. These twinning groups can be activated based on selected triggers. As part of twinning operation, service delivery can be re-directing away from the primary device to the IoT twinning group. Messages originating from members of the IoT twinning group can be processed and forwarded externally as if they came from the primary device. Further, the twinning service can be de-activated based on selected triggers.

Abstract: When transcribing audio recordings, such as legal depositions, phrases may be repeated throughout the recordings, but these repeated phrases get transcribed incorrectly by an automatic speech recognition (ASR) system. In order to assist a transcriber to correctly resolve such phrases, some embodiments described herein involve a computer that receives an audio recording that includes speech, generates a transcription of the audio recording utilizing an ASR system, and clusters segments of the audio recording into clusters of similar utterances. The computer provides a transcriber with certain segments of the audio recording, which include similar utterances belonging to a certain cluster, along with transcriptions of the certain segments. The computer receives from the transcriber: an indication of which of the certain segments include repetitions of a phrase, and a correct transcription of the phrase.

Abstract: A service for automatically connecting an individual's telephony device to a conference call when the conference call is about to begin is provided by a telephony system. The telephony system obtains information about a scheduled conference call directly from the individual's electronic calendar. When it is time for the conference call to begin, the telephony system dials into the conference call bridge and automatically provides the information needed to access the conference call. The telephony system then connects the individual's telephony device to the conference call.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for generating a transcript of a legal proceeding or other multi-speaker conversation or performance in real time or near-real time using multi-channel audio capture. Different speakers or participants in a conversation may each be assigned a separate microphone that is placed in proximity to the given speaker, where each audio channel includes audio captured by a different microphone. Filters may be applied to isolate each channel to include speech utterances of a different speaker, and these filtered channels of audio data may then be processed in parallel to generate speech-to-text results that are interleaved to form a generated transcript.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for intelligent conference recording is disclosed. The computer-implemented method for intelligent conference recording may analyze content and context information related to a conference session, determine if at least one recording threshold criteria is met, and based on the determined recording threshold criteria, start a recording of the conference session. The computer-implemented method for intelligent conference recording can share the conference session recording based on a voting result.

Abstract: Embodiments for rendering content, such as a teleconference, by one or more processors are described. A personalized presentation rendering profile for at least one individual is received. Portions of the content are selected based on the personalized presentation rendering profile. A rendering of the content is caused to be generated. The rendering of the content includes rendering the selected portions of the content in a manner different than other portions of the content.

Abstract: A meeting application can gather calendar information from a calendaring service, even if that calendaring service is independent from (e.g., a “third party to”) the meeting service. The meeting application can incorporate the calendar information into an in-meeting graphical user interface so that the calendar information can be displayed with the meeting. In some embodiments, this includes listing all invitees and participants alongside their associated acceptance status (e.g., are they present, did they accept, did they decline, etc.). In some embodiments, the calendar information can inform a meeting timer that can indicate the remaining time for the meeting. In some embodiments, the calendar information can inform individual timers that indicate how much time individual participants have before their next appointment.

Abstract: Described are call handling methods performed by a carrier network or client stations. A method performed by a carrier network includes designating rules for call handling for an account, receiving first and second voice calls for the account, wherein the voice calls may be either an incoming calls or originated calls and handling the first and second voice calls for the account based on the rules. A method performed by a client station includes receiving a first invitation to a first call, responding to the first invitation causing the first call to be active, receiving a second invitation to a second call while the first call remains active and responding to the second invitation causing the second call to be active and the first call to be on hold, the client station is prevented from originating a call when one call is active and one call is on hold.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present application relate to a method and system for managing invitations to participate in an application program. The method includes acquiring, at an application service device, application program information associated with an application program executed by the application service device, determining, based at least in part on the application program information, whether the application program supports participation by another application service device, and in the event that the application program supports participation by another application service device, sending invitation information associated with the application program to a client device that is connected to the application service device.

Abstract: The present disclosure may be embodied as a pillow speaker system. The pillow speaker system includes a nurse call patient station and a patient interface device (PID). The PID is in electronic communication with the nurse call patient station, and includes a wired communication link connected to the nurse call patient station and an energy storage device for providing backup power to the PID. The energy storage device is galvanically isolated from the wired communication link. The PID is configured to receive audio signals from the nurse call patient station by way of the wired communication link. The PID may also include a power port for receiving electrical power from an external source. The power port is galvanically isolated from the wired communication link.

Abstract: Techniques for joining a device of a third user to a communication between a device of a first user and a device of a second user are described herein. For instance, two or more users may utilize respective computing devices to engage in a telephone call, a video call, an instant-messaging session, or any other type of communication in which the users communicate with each other audibly and/or visually. In some instances, a first user of the two users may issue a voice command requesting to join a device of a third user to the communication. One or more computing devices may recognize this voice command and may attempt to join a device of a third user to the communication.

Abstract: There is provided a method comprising: rendering, on a first area of a display controlled by a user terminal, visual data associated with a user participating in a call; determining that the user's connection to the call has ended; determining whether or not the ending of the connection is deliberate; and retaining the area of the display for the user for a predetermined amount of time in dependence on the determination of whether or not the ending of the connection is deliberate.

Abstract: One or more endpoints may be registered with a gateway at a premises. The gateway may include local physical interfaces for communicating with a first subset of the endpoints. The gateway may further include Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) proxy servers for communicating with a second subset of the endpoints. Incoming communications to the premises may be routed by the gateway to one or more of the endpoints via the local physical interfaces or the SIP proxy servers. One or more endpoints may initiate outgoing communications via the local physical interfaces or the SIP proxy servers.

Abstract: A binaural hearing system comprising first and second hearing devices, e.g. hearing aids, adapted to establish a communication link between them, each comprising a) first and second input units providing first and second electric input signals representing first and second sound signals from the environment of the binaural hearing system, b) a beamformer unit for generating a beamformed signal from the first and second electric input signals, and c) a control unit for controlling the beamformer unit. In a specific dual DIR mode of operation aimed at a listening situation comprising first and second target sound sources, the control units of the first and second hearing devices are configured to focus their respective beamformer units on the first and second target sound sources, respectively. The application further relates to a method of operating a binaural hearing system.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems, methods, computer program products, and the like, for implementing a virtual service control point in a telecommunications network. In one embodiment, the system and methods involve implementing the functions of a service control point (SCP) device on one or more computing devices, such as application servers of the network, of the telecommunications network to create a virtual service control point device. In one embodiment, the virtual SCP may translate toll-free communications, such as 8xx based telephone communications, into a destination address associated with a customer of the network. In addition to resolving communications into a destination address or number, a virtual SCP instantiated in a network may provide one or more routing rules or features for such communications to a customer.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and media for identifying and associating user devices with media cues are provided. In some embodiments, a plurality of data streams from a plurality of endpoints is received. At least one media segment is then received from a user device. It is determined whether the at least one media segment from the user device corresponds with one of the plurality of data streams from the plurality of endpoints. In response to being unable to match the at least one media segment, a media cue is inserted into one of the plurality of data streams. In response to detecting that the media cue in that data stream is received by the user device, identification information is transmitted to the user device that associates the user device with one or more services on a communications server.

Abstract: A computer system may communicate metadata that identifies a current speaker. The computer system may receive audio data that represents speech of the current speaker, generate an audio fingerprint of the current speaker based on the audio data, and perform automated speaker recognition by comparing the audio fingerprint of the current speaker against stored audio fingerprints contained in a speaker fingerprint repository. The computer system may communicate data indicating that the current speaker is unrecognized to a client device of an observer and receive tagging information that identifies the current speaker from the client device of the observer. The computer system may store the audio fingerprint of the current speaker and metadata that identifies the current speaker in the speaker fingerprint repository and communicate the metadata that identifies the current speaker to at least one of the client device of the observer or a client device of a different observer.

Abstract: Computer communications that are to be recorded are visible to a network interface on a recording computer. The network interface receives the packets to be recorded. The network layer of the recording computer implements a subset of the normal IP module in the network layer. Instead of checking every IP packet, the IP module in the network layer assumes that most IP packets are correctly addressed, internally consistent and of the expected protocol type. The recording computer allocates the received packets to a recording session based upon the value of a field that is at a fixed position within the packet. Packets that are allocated to a session are recorded or associated with other packets that have been allocated to the same session.

Abstract: Managing multiple overlapped electronic conference meetings is provided. Real time streams of speech data are received from a plurality of overlapping electronic conference meetings a registered user is scheduled to participate in. It is determined that a real time stream of speech data corresponding to an electronic conference meeting includes a trigger. It is determined that the registered user is not currently participating in the electronic conference meeting including the trigger. A notification that includes a selectable control element is sent, via a network, to the registered user regarding the electronic conference meeting along with a transcript of the electronic conference meeting. The registered user is joined to the electronic conference meeting in response to receiving an input selecting the selectable control element.

Abstract: A teleconferencing environment is provided in which both audio and visual cues are used to identify active participants and presenters. Embodiments provide an artificial environment, configurable by each participant in a teleconference, that directs the attention of a user to an identifier of an active participant or presenter. This direction is provided, in part, by stereo-enhanced audio that is associated with a position of a visual identifier of an active participant or presenter that has been placed on a window of a computer screen. The direction is also provided, in part, by promotion and demotion of attendees between attendee, active participant, and current presenter and automatic placement of an image related to an attendee on the screen in response to such promotion and demotion.

Abstract: A system and method for distributed audio/video bridging for conferencing endpoints are disclosed. In one embodiment, a plurality of endpoints are connected to a modified video communication terminal (MVCT) via a communication network. The MVCT is an endpoint including an audio/video bridging module (AVBM). Further, one of the plurality of endpoints capable of holding audio video bridging is determined by the AVBM. Furthermore, the connection of one or more remaining endpoints is transferred to the determined endpoint by the AVBM for load balancing. Also, audio and/or video bridging of the endpoints and the MVCT is enabled by the AVBM and the determined endpoint based on connectivity information of the remaining endpoints with the MVCT and the determined endpoint for conferencing participants.

Abstract: In one implementation, a conference hosted on a conference bridge that includes an echo control device that classifies the echo return loss of a plurality of endpoints. The endpoints may include endpoints on internet protocol (IP) networks and public switched telephone networks (PSTN). The echo control of the endpoints is controlled independently. An echo classification module calculates the echo return loss value of the associated echo tail of the endpoint and chooses an appropriate echo control mode. If the echo return loss is above a high threshold, a pass through mode is activated. If the echo return loss is below a low threshold, a full echo cancellation mode is activated. If the echo return loss is between the low threshold and the high threshold, an echo suppression mode is activated.

Abstract: A method, non-transitory computer readable medium and apparatus for providing a communications service in a communications network are disclosed. For example, the method monitors a conference call, detects a triggering event during the conference call registered for a particular user, wherein the particular user is not a participant in the conference call, and notifies the particular user of the triggering event.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a computer method, computer program product, and computer system for automatically updating a conference invitation with contact information corresponding to a user's geographical location. A user on a client device accepts an invitation to a conference. The geographical location of the client device is determined and stored in a database. Using the location of the client device, a conference information database is accessed, and location specific conference contact information is determined. The location specific conference contact information is then input into the conference invitation so that the user has location specific conference contact information. In another embodiment, when the user accesses the conference invitation, the location of the client device is determined, and if the location has changed from when the invitation was accepted, a new location is determined.

Abstract: Presented are systems and methods for providing moderator control in a heterogeneous conference including acquiring a merge control to merge a first conference with a second conference to create a single heterogeneous conference, wherein the first conference and the second conference utilize different types of conference hosting systems. The system sends the merge control to a server, wherein the server is configured to establish conference connections with the first conference and the second conference. The system then merges the first conference with the second conference to create the heterogeneous conference and determines a moderator for the heterogeneous conference. The system automatically transfers one or more moderator controls to the moderator of the heterogeneous conference.

Abstract: Presented are systems and methods for creating a transcription of a conference call. The system joins an audio conference call with a device associated with a participant, of a plurality of participants joined to the conference through one or more associated devices. The system then creates a speech audio file corresponding to a portion of the participant's speech during the conference and converting contemporaneously, at the device, the speech audio file to a local partial transcript. The system then acquires a plurality of partial transcripts from at least one of the associated devices, so that the device can provide a complete transcript.

Abstract: Various embodiments for conducting a phone conferencing session are disclosed. One embodiment is a method implemented in a communication device for conducting a phone conferencing session. The method comprises determining that a user of the communication device wishes to initiate the phone conferencing session, determining a current location of the communication device, retrieving information relating to the user for initiating the phone conferencing session, and initiating the phone conferencing session associated according to the information relating to the user.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for monitoring a conference. A first bridging function is established that bridges together signals received from all conference participants. A second bridging function is established that bridges together signals received from i) a subset of the conference participants, ii) an output of the first bridging function, and iii) a monitor of the conference. The second bridging function isolates the monitor's signals from the conference such that only the subset of the conference participants may communicate with the monitor during the conference.

Abstract: A system and method of routing a conference call participant to a conference call is disclosed. Participant location data is requested from an electronic device of the conference call participant. The participant location data is received on a system server from the electronic device of the conference call participant. A least cost connection conference call access phone number is determined from an access number group of one or more available conference call access phone numbers based on the location data from the electronic device of the conference call participant. The conference call participant is provided with the least cost connection conference call access phone number.

Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and techniques for providing presence and location information from available media resources to participants in a media conference so that the participants can use then use such available resources in the conferencing interaction. When participating in such rich media conferences with presence and location capabilities, apparatus and techniques are provided for determining the device(s) being used and their capabilities and determining available resources presently connected to a network that is available to the participants and presenting such presence information to the conference participants. Additionally, apparatus and techniques are provided for obtaining presence and location knowledge of potential resources that are accessible but not connected to the network or shutdown and presenting such information to the participants.

More specifically, a “join-us” concept is employed that links functionality in non-real-time messaging systems with real-time ongoing state of calls information in a communications network. This combines the spontaneity and security of an ad-hoc conference call with the join-as-you-can nature of messaging and reservation of conference bridges.

The system may include a communications module and a contact database comprising a plurality of contact records, each contact record corresponding to a different contact. Each contact record may include at least one contact address and at least one descriptor. For example, the descriptor may include a job title and/or expertise for the contact. The system may also include a selection module configured to select at least one of the contacts and also configured to compare the at least one descriptor to at least one qualifier criteria.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for managing conference calling using a URL assigned to a conference call organizer. One method includes receiving, from a conference call organizer, a request to be placed into a conference call associated with a URL assigned to the organizer; and receiving, from a prospective conference call participant, a request to be placed into the conference call associated with the URL. Another method includes receiving, from a first user, through a web page of a URL assigned to the first user, a first phone number at which the first user can be called; receiving, from a second user, through the web page of the URL, a second phone number at which the second user can be called; and initiating phone calls to the first user at the first number and the second user at the second number.

Abstract: Systems and methods can provide an identity to a conference bridge; the identity including an email address for the conference bridge. When two or more people desire to conduct a conference, a person creates an invitation to the conference. The invitation can be an email invitation from a calendar program that can be sent to the invitees. The invitation can be sent to the conference bridge using the email address for the conference bridge. The conference bridge may then receive a call from a caller for a conference. The conference bridge can extract a caller identifier from the call and determine an email associated with the caller. The conference bridge may then retrieve the invitation having the email. Then, the conference bridge can attach the caller to the conference associated with the invitation.

Abstract: A method that allows a user to have his or her telecommunications terminal automatically monitor one or more teleconferences so that he or she participates in the relevant portions of a teleconference without the disadvantages associated with the prior art is described. The illustrative embodiment teaches a method that can monitor one or more teleconferences and determines when there is a discussion that is relevant to the user. At that point, the user is automatically joined to the teleconference bridge where the teleconference is taking place.

Abstract: Disclosed is a two-way radio frequency (RF) communications system including a first device that receives, from a first subscriber unit, a virtual radio conferencing call (VRC) request identifying a plurality of other subscriber units to be partied to the VRC call and a conference time period during which to conduct the VRC call. The device reserves RF resources at one or more corresponding radio sites associated with the subscriber units partied to the VRC call for the conference time period. At a beginning of the conference time period, the device causes a virtual radio conference call start message to be transmitted to the subscriber units partied to the call instructing the subscriber units to join the VRC call via the reserved RF resources at their respective radio sites.

Abstract: A method includes receiving at a local conference coordinator a first indication of a scheduled conference that includes a plurality of conference details. The method also includes transmitting at least one of the plurality of conference details to a remote conference coordinator and receiving at least one additional conference detail regarding the scheduled conference from the remote conference coordinator. The method additionally includes determining conference scheduling information comprising at least one resource to be used for the scheduled conference based on the plurality of conference details and the at least one additional conference detail. The method also includes identifying a conference room supporting the at least one resource to be used for the scheduled conference.

Abstract: An improved solution for telephonic voice authentication and display is provided. A method of identifying conference call participants includes detecting a sound made by one of conference call participants; identifying this conference call participant based on the sound; and then displaying an attribute of the conference call participant to one of the other conference call participants. The attribute may include a picture, a name, and/or other information related to the identified conference call participant.

Abstract: System, method and program for controlling a mute function on a telephone device. While the mute function is active, sound reaching a telephone or other communication device is sensed, and a determination is made if the sound includes a word. If so, an alarm is activated to alert a user that the mute function is active. If not, the alarm is not activated. In accordance with an optional feature of the present invention, speech recognition software is trained to recognize the voice or speech pattern of a specific user, and the alarm is activated only if the word was spoken by the specific user.

Abstract: A method is disclosed which allows an invitee to a conference call, who is not present on at least part of the call, to have the call monitored in his or her absence. The invitee is offered the opportunity to review, ahead of the call, one or more electronic documents that are pertinent to the call. The invitee can specify one or more pointers for the purpose of identifying positions that correspond to portions of the document that are relevant to the invitee. When a relevant portion of an electronic document has been reached or is soon to be reached during the call, a message is transmitted to the absent invitee. Additionally, the invitee can annotate slides or portions of an electronic document with comments that he or she wants addressed during the conference call. A message is subsequently transmitted to the invitee, providing responses to the comments left earlier.

Abstract: A conference control server accesses a calendar server in order to identify calls scheduled by an organizer and to facilitate initiation of the calls at the scheduled time. A method for integrating the calendar server and the conference control server includes identifying a plurality of resources, which each have a resource identifier, and registering to receive notifications of updates to those resources. If update notifications are received, the conference control server determines meeting information for a scheduled conference indicated by the update notifications. The conference control server may also provide a portion of the meeting information to a resource identified by the meeting information.

Abstract: Techniques for managing teleconferences. A plurality of people are associated with a plurality of identifiers such that each person is associated with at least one identifier. For each caller to a teleconference associated with a different identifier, authentication information is solicited from the caller. Authentication information is received from the caller in response to the solicitation and a determination, based on the received authentication information, is made whether the caller is associated with one of the identifiers.

Abstract: A method for transferring data based on an event function is provided. The method includes receiving an event function from an event initiator. The event function is distributed to one or more destinations associated with event performers. A response message is received as a function of destination and time. It is determined whether the time is less than or equal to a limit time, and it is further determined whether an event parameter is greater than or equal to an event constant if the time is less than or equal to the limit time. Data is transferred from a data origination system accessible by the event initiator to a data destination system accessible by the event performer if the event parameter is greater than or equal to the event constant and if the time is less than or equal to the limit time.

Abstract: A teleconferencing system based on application software run on a primary server that establishes a teleconference involving a plurality of callers and at least one facilitator. The teleconferencing system enables transferring callers from the primary server to connected secondary servers, each of which is connected to the primary server, thereby enabling the size of the teleconference to scale either upon initiation of or during the teleconference. Callers may be transferred to secondary servers, and secondary servers may be added or removed from the teleconferencing system during a teleconference. The inventive teleconferencing system enables an almost unlimited number of callers to participate in a teleconference.

Abstract: An approach is disclosed for providing an integrated call and chat conferencing system. A first participant joins in a conference, wherein the first participant communicates over a voice session. The voice session is converted into a text stream and stored. A second participant joins in the conference, wherein the second participant communicates over a chat session. The stored converted text stream is presented to second participant.

Abstract: A communication manager establishes a call between two or more participants on two or more communication devices. The call can be an audio or video call. A call request is sent from one of the communication devices to conference an additional communication device to the call. For example, a participant in the call decides to conference an additional person to further discuss an idea. An information manager gets a roster of the participants. In addition to the call request, the roster of the participants is sent to the additional communication device. The additional communication device receives the call request and the roster. The roster is displayed to the user of the additional communication device. The user can then indicate to answer the call request. If answered, the additional communication device sends an indication that the call was answered and the additional communication device is conferenced into the call.
