  • Patent number: 6421436
Abstract: A multiline telephone apparatus with caller ID signal detecting function had an expensive modem for demodulating the caller ID in each one of telephone lines. According to the invention of the present application, each line is provided with a signal detecting circuit for detecting a channel seizure signal or carrier signal in the caller ID signal, and the input line to the modem for caller ID demodulation is changed over depending on the detection output of these signal detecting circuits, so that the caller ID signals of a plurality of lines can be demodulated by one modem only. As a result, a simple and inexpensive multiline telephone apparatus with caller ID signal detecting function is realized.

Abstract: A clock generating circuit generates a clock of a rate corresponding to a Dch rate in response to a specification from the exterior. A counting circuit detects completion of reception of one frame by counting the clock number up to “11” at timing at which a start bit detecting circuit detects a start bit in a serial signal. An S/P converting circuit fetches a serial Dch signal bit by bit in synchronism with the clock, outputs the latest fetched 10 bits in a parallel form and latches eight bits of a real data portion among the output data into a latch circuit at the time when reception of one frame is completed. In parallel with the above operation, a parity calculating circuit and flag/interruption generating circuit set various flags and generate a reception completion interruption.

Abstract: System-atypical plug-in locations are made available in a small system of an overall system series also comprising a mid-sized and, potentially a large system. These locations are supplied with signals in a different way than the system-specific plug-in locations. These signals and their handling by the system control are available in and of themselves in the corresponding system but are utilized in some other way. Additional plug-in locations are thus fashioned in a way that plug-in assemblies from the mid-sized and large systems can be utilized as peripheral assemblies. Solutions that are rarely applied can thus be realized in an economically justifiable way without complicated additional development. Performance features such as, for example, cordless integration, from a large system can thus be made directly available in a small system.

A two-line operating mode may select one of the phone lines for operating use upon detection of a predetermined condition from condition detectors (232, 234) or ring detectors (246, 248). Thus, a multi-line telephone apparatus operates flexibly according to different phone line connections.

  • Patent number: 5835180
Abstract: A key telephone system having user-friendly electronic directory function in which dialling numbers more than the number of abbreviated dialling numbers can be registered and the number of digits of abbreviated dialling number is maintained to a small number by treating separately an abbreviated dialling data and other directory data upon registration of data. Further, the content of a retrieved directory data can be registered as an abbreviated dialling number. In the system, a necessary number of data can be registered in the directory, and calling operation using an abbreviated dialling number can be made with a fixed number of digits of abbreviated dialling number regardless of the number of abbreviated dialling numbers. Further, registration of abbreviated dialling number can be performed effectively.

Abstract: An electronic patching system includes a first plurality of ports connected to the terminations of a plurality of telephone and data lines from the utility central office, and a second plurality of ports wired to a plurality of telecommunications devices. Both pluralities of ports are coupled to inputs of a controlled switching matrix, which connects each of the telecommunications devices to one or more of the telephone and data lines. The switching matrix is operated by a programmable logic array that directs the matrix to establish and maintain the desired connections between the telephone equipment and the telephone and data lines, computer network lines, and the like. The switching matrix includes a high voltage switch portion to handle analog telephone instruments. An algorithm for controlling the programmable logic array is created using a personal computer, and stored in memory.

  • Patent number: 5815552
Abstract: A communication system of the present invention includes an exchange connected to a plurality of subscriber terminals. The exchange includes a display data management section which includes first and second tables. The first table indicates types of messages and is used to refer to the second table. The second table stores data of display messages classified for individual message types and is retrieved with a message number. When a calling party depresses a message displaying function key and then depresses a message number on a subscriber terminal, the exchange recognizes that a message display request has been input. The exchange reads out data associated with the display message from the display data management section, and causes a terminal display section of the calling party terminal to display the data and further causes a terminal loudspeaker section to output speech to allow the calling party to confirm the display message.
