Reserved Call (e.g., Return Call, Call Back, Scheduled Call, Reestablished Call) Patents (Class 379/210.01)
  • Patent number: 9071687
Abstract: A system and machine-implemented method for automated communication is presented. Outbound communication time window groups associated with one or more ranges of time valid are identified for initiating an outbound communication. A set of outbound communication time window groups for each of which the current time is within its associated ranges of time is identified. Subsequently, a call record associated with one of the outbound communication time window groups in the set is obtained, and an outbound communication session is initiated to a communication address included in the obtained call record. After an outbound communication session is established, it may be transferred to a live agent. If the outbound communication session has failed however, another outbound communication session may be initiated to the communication address within a later time range.

Abstract: Methods for enabling enhanced call return in a communications network is disclosed. In some embodiments, the method includes receiving an incoming telephone call from a caller, wherein the incoming telephone call identifies a subscriber as a callee thereof; capturing caller-specific information for the caller, wherein the caller-specific information includes at least one of the name of the caller and the telephone number of the caller; and storing the caller-specific information into an intelligent peripheral (IP) within the network. Some embodiments of the methods include allowing the subscriber to access the caller-specific information stored in the IP. In some embodiments, the subscriber subscribes to an enhanced call return (ECR) feature as part of a service plan. The ECR feature allows the subscriber to access caller-specific information for a predetermined number of past callers and also to return calls from those past callers.

  • Patent number: 8755503
Abstract: The present invention is related to telecommunications, and in particular, to methods and systems for call processing. By way of example, a first call control is visually provided via a Web page in association with search results transmitted to a user computer system, wherein the user submitted to search request to a search engine. An indication is received that the user activated the first call control. A first call is placed to a telephonic address selected by the user. A second call is placed to a telephonic address associated with the first call control. Progress information related to the second call is transmitted to the user computer system in substantially real-time.

  • Patent number: 8737588

  • Patent number: 8731157
Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for ensuring a real-time connection between users and selected service providers using voice mail. The system enables seekers of a wide array of services to select, contact, converse, and pay for a service provider using a communications device such as the telephone. A seeker locates a service provider by providing the name of a profession, which is recognized by the system's software. Once a service provider is selected, the system connects the seeker with the service provider for a live conversation. However, during service provider unavailability, the system enables the seeker to leave a voice mail message for the service provider and reconnects the user and service provider once the message is reviewed by the service provider. The system automatically bills the seeker for the time spent conversing with the service provider and compensates the service provider.

Abstract: A call setup process (28) in a telecommunication device (10) is controlled, wherein the telecommunication device (10) receives a user command (22) to set up a call, initiates the call setup process (28), determines that the call is likely to reach a voicemail system (14), and, in response to the determination that the call is likely to reach the voicemail system (14), automatically terminates the call setup process (28). A telecommunication device (10) comprises related features. A telecommunication network (12) is adapted to support or implement a determination whether or not an incoming call is forwarded to the voicemail system (14). The invention improves the user experience if a called party does not personally answer a telephone call.

  • Patent number: 8705725
Abstract: A system and method employed in a call center provide a memory structure for use in maintaining a call queue including data representing a plurality of calls to be serviced, and the data is structured so as to represent an order in which the plurality of calls are to be serviced. The call queue data further indicates whether each call is to be handled as an inbound or an outbound call. When an incoming call is received by the call center and no service representative is currently available to service the call, the caller is prompted to elect to either wait on-line for a next available service representative or to disconnect the call and receive a call back at a later time. An aspect of this technology is that the caller does not lose his or her place in the queue and is not stuck on hold.

  • Patent number: 8705710
Abstract: The present invention is directed to processing calls to busy and Do-Not-Disturb capable telecommunications lines. In one embodiment, the presence of a subscriber accessing a computer network over a first telephone line via a first computer terminal is detected, wherein the subscriber also has a first telephone station connected to the first line. When a caller calls the first line and the first line is busy, the call is forwarded to a second telephone line associated with a call manager system. The call manager system determines when the subscriber is no longer accessing the computer network. At least partly in response to determining that the subscriber is no longer accessing the computer network, the call manager system transmits a text message to the caller, the message including the subscriber's phone number. The caller can then call back the first line using the transmitted phone number.
