Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for a network to choose an authentication mode, wherein the key lies in that, according to the received authentication information in the authentication vector request message from S-CSCF as well as according to type of the requesting subscriber, HSS returns authentication information of the Early-IMS-based authentication vector to S-CSCF, or returns authentication information of the Full-IMS-based authentication mode to S-CSCF, or directly returns failure information to S-CSCF. If it is under the former two situations, the subscriber will be authenticated by adopting the corresponding authentication mode, and then S-CSCF will return access-allowed or access-rejected information to the subscriber according to authentication result. If it is in the latter situation, S-CSCF will directly send access-rejected information to the subscriber.
Abstract: A medium access control (MAC) entity first computes an achievable rate region based on a total transmit power limit and a channel gain of each of a plurality of WTRUs. Next, the MAC entity selects an order of DPC among the WTRUs. A rate set for use in transmitting to the WTRUs is then selected, said rate set being within the computed achievable rate region. Then, based on the selected DPC order and rate set, a DPC entity performs DPC on a plurality of data streams intended for the plurality of WTRUs. If nested lattice-based DPC is utilized, rate compatibility is achieved by selecting proper nesting ratios corresponding to a desired data rate set. Otherwise, if binary-code based DPC is utilized, rate compatibility is achieved via selecting appropriate message input sizes for input to point-to-point coding units prior to performing DPC.

Abstract: A system and a method are provided for managing network activation with a carrier and registration with a service provider. In one example, the method determines a network activation status. If the network is not activated, a utility is used to perform the activation. Further, the status of registration with a provider is determined. If not registered, a request is sent to a server of the service provider for a registration file configured to gather user registration information. The registration file is then received from the server. The registration file is executed on the personal computer. Data gathered by the registration file is then returned to the service provider's server to complete the registration procedures.
Abstract: Apparatus for coupling communication signal modulated radio frequency signals between an electrical power distribution line and the electrical power wiring at a customer's premises which includes a first transceiver for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic energy is inductively coupled to the distribution line and a second transceiver for receiving electromagnetic energy from, and transmitting electromagnetic energy to, the first transceiver. The second transceiver is coupled to the customer's power wiring to receive communication signals from, and to supply communication signals to, the customer's power wiring. The electrical power for the first transceiver can be supplied by inductive coupling to the power line and/or a battery, the battery being a back-up source when both inductive coupling and a battery are present.
