Telescoping Or Longitudinally Overlapping Sections Patents (Class 38/102.8)
  • Patent number: 9623700
Abstract: A frame for stretching a fabric material, having a plurality of outer frame members; a plurality of interlocking joints and a plurality of connector pieces. The plurality of outer frame members are adapted and configured to receive the fabric material in the plurality of interlocking joints. The plurality of connector pieces are adapted and configured to fit into the plurality of interlocking joints thereby connecting the plurality of interlocking cornered joints to the plurality of outer frame members. The plurality of connector pieces are adapted and configured such that the fabric material is stretched such that the plurality of connector pieces enables the fabric material to be taut across the frame.

  • Patent number: 8490545
Abstract: A printing screen unit including a printing screen having two pairs of opposite edges and a frame including interface members bonded to opposite edges of the printing screen and coupled together at corners of the frame, wherein the frame holds the printing screen in an untensioned state when no tension is applied thereto by external tensioning mechanisms separate to the frame, and the frame is substantially rigid when in the untensioned state, but allows for relative movement of the respective pairs of interface members by a tension applied by external tensioning mechanisms separate to the frame to tension the printing screen.

  • Patent number: 7481013
Abstract: A billboard sign includes abutting rectangular tubular sections forming a frame using a rectangular tube extending across abutting ends within the tubular sections. The rectangular tube is biased against adjacent inside wall surfaces of the tubular sections for securing and aligning the tubular sections to each other. Risers extend between opposing horizontal frame sections and define a flat riser plane. Stringers are attached to support posts and define a vertically oriented plane. With risers defining the flat riser plane, the stringers horizontally attached to support posts and aligned for defining a vertically oriented plane, the flat riser plane can be aligned with the vertically oriented plane for securing the frame to the support posts in a flat plane of the frame vertically oriented as desired, regardless of the orientation of the support posts. A flexible substrate may be extended across a periphery of the frame with a message carrying surface.

  • Patent number: 6877261
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for tensioning fabric and particularly, but not exclusively, to a method and apparatus for tensioning a fabric support by a frame in a marquee. A tensioner (2) is provided with a mounting device (4) for mounting the tensioner to a frame (100) of a marquee and a connector (6, 8, 42), which connects the mounting device (4) to a fabric to be tensioned. The connector (6, 8, 42) includes a resiliently bendable elongate member, (6, 8) which is resiliently connected to the mounting device (4) and includes an engagement device (42) which engages the fabric so as to permit a transfer of force between the fabric and the mounting device (4). The tensioner thereby allows fabric to be tensioned in a convenient and rapid manner.

  • Patent number: 6732640
Abstract: A frame for supporting the screen of a screen printing machine having elongated frame members coupled together each providing support for an edge of the screen. The frame further includes a reinforcing member supported by the frame to extend in intimate proximity along at least a portion of at least one of the frame members to provide a prestress and/or camber of the frame member. The reinforcing member may include a cable extending within an interior of the frame member. The reinforcing member may also include an elongated secondary member affixed to the frame member while the frame member and secondary member are subjected to an applied condition imposing differential strains on confronting surfaces of the frame member and secondary member.
