Sectional Press Platen Patents (Class 38/20)
  • Patent number: 6993862
Abstract: Automated compact ironing press includes a base on which is articulated a pressing arm bearing a heating plate for co-operating with one of two ironing boards in the base. The press further includes a pressing mechanism driven by an electric motor. The pressing arm has a resilient element connected to the pressing mechanism at one of its end that may be displaced by the electric motor from a position where the vertical component of the pressure force is minimized to a position where the pressure force is maximized. The main ironing board is pivoted on the base thanks to connecting levers and may occupy a retracted position in the base and a service position above the sleeve board, which is rigidly fixed to the base. A water tank and a water pump is cinematically linked to and actuated by the pressing arm.

  • Patent number: 6722063
Abstract: The present invention enables the cloth shrunk through its washing to be finished in press to such a state as found in its new product. The present invention is comprised of a buck having a protruded curved upper surface on which a collar of the shirts 1 is mounted and a press iron having a concave curved iron surface for depressing the upper surface of the buck. A radius of curvature of the upper surface of the buck is selected to be larger than a radius of curvature of the iron surface of the press iron. The buck is divided at its central position into a right segment and a left segment so as to form a pair of right and left divided members. There is provided a depressing mechanism for turning each of the divided segments in an upward and outward direction at the time of pressing at the collar.

  • Patent number: 6038796
Abstract: This invention is formed such that the pressing table is formed by a pair of front-side pressing table and rear-side pressing table. This invention is also formed such that the pressing iron is formed by a pair of front-side pressing iron corresponding to the front-side pressing table and a rear-side pressing iron corresponding to the rear-side pressing table. Then, this invention is constructed such that the front-side pressing table and the rear-side pressing table are arranged side-by-side with a clearance being applied to arrange the overlapped portions of cloth. Further, this invention is provided with an operating mechanism for making a slight rearward positional displacement of both the rear-side pressing table and the rear-side pressing iron so as to make a taught state of the trousers during pressing of the trousers.

  • Patent number: 5494552
Abstract: Two-sided fusible tape is mounted in an effective manner upon the sleeve seam allowance of a garment comprising the steps of placing a jacket arranged inside out upon a heated stationary buck, the jacket being positioned on the buck so that the sleeve seam allowance is properly aligned. An exposed surface of a two-sided fusible strip is placed along the sleeve seam allowance, the other fusible surface being covered with a protective sheet. A vacuum communicating with the buck is drawn to retain the garment in the proper position. A pair of heated heads having pressing surfaces conforming to the shape of the buck are simultaneously driven toward the buck to press the fusible strip against the sleeve seam allowance of the garment, the heat from the buck and the heads activating the fusible. Steam may be ejected from the heads when the fusible employed requires steam for activation. The heads are withdrawn from the buck and the garment is removed in preparation for mounting a shoulder pad to the garment.

  • Patent number: 5014453
Abstract: An improved head and buck for a fabric pressing machine, each comprising a hollow casting. The head has an upper steam chamber and a lower spray chamber. A cowling surrounds the head steam chamber, having air intake holes at one end and an air valve near its other end directly connecting the cowling to the spray chamber. The head has a resilient peripheral sealing element engaging a peripheral rim on the buck when the head is closed thereagainst. The buck has a vacuum valve connecting the buck to a source of vacuum. With the head sealed about the buck, air in heat exchange with the head steam chamber within the cowling can be drawn through the workpiece during the drying step of the pressing cycle by opening the buck vacuum valve. The buck is provided with a grid plate, pad and cover assembly which is divided longitudinally into front and rear halves.

  • Patent number: 4542601
Abstract: A trousers ironing machine is provided with devices for automatically picking up trousers at the end of the ironing process and successively orderly gathering them. The machine comprises essentially a pair of side-by-side flat structures each including two portions of elongate shape which are arranged sequentially lengthwise. The two elongate portions can be moved toward and away from each other and jointly rotated through 180.degree. about an intermediate axis extending orthogonally to the plane of lay. Positioned above each flat structure is an ironing platen which is suitably set up to apply an appropriate pressure to the structure, a sliding gripper being arranged below the structure for gripping the ironed trousers and pulling them out of the structure.
