Including Phase Inversion Of Scan Line Information Patents (Class 380/222)
  • Patent number: 10645337
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods that use video line inversion for reducing impact of periodic interference signals on analog transmission of video signals over wired links/connections. In one aspect of the present disclosure, in certain circumstances, a transmitter may be configured to perform video line inversion on a certain subset of video lines of a video signal prior to transmitting the video signal to the receiver, and a receiver may be configured to perform a corresponding inversion for the same subset of video lines of the video signal received at the receiver. Such video line inversion performed by the transmitter and the receiver may advantageously allow reducing or eliminating the impact of periodic interference signals that might affect the video signal during transmission, resulting in an improved quality of the video rendered at the receiver side.

  • Patent number: 8644379
Abstract: A luminance compensating method of compensating a de-interlaced pixel in a current block of a current frame with reference to a reference block of a reference frame is provided. First, calculate an average luminance of the current block and an average luminance of the reference block. Next, adjust the luminance of the de-interlaced pixel by a luminance difference between the average luminance of the current block and the average luminance of the reference block, such that the luminance of the de-interlaced pixel is more appropriate and the display quality is improved.

  • Patent number: 8320564
Abstract: A video device includes a video signal generation circuit, an encrypted signal detection circuit and a central processing unit (CPU). The encrypted signal detection circuit detects encrypted messages in video signals output from the video signal generation circuit and outputs stable trigger control signals to the CPU, which includes an amplifier circuit, a separation circuit, a reverse circuit, a delay circuit and a trigger circuit. The video signals are amplified via the amplifier circuit and negative phase pulse signals are extracted from the video signals via the separation circuit. The reverse circuit converts the negative phase pulse signals to positive phase pulse signals that are delayed via the delay circuit. The trigger circuit outputs the stable trigger control signals based on the delayed positive phase pulse circuit.

  • Patent number: 7706533
Abstract: Enhancements to a video anticopying process that causes an abnormally low amplitude video signal to be recorded on an illegal copy. The enhancements in one version introduce into the overscan portion of the television picture, just prior to the horizontal or vertical sync signals but in active video, a negative going waveform that appears to the television receiver or videotape recorder to be a sync signal, thereby causing an early horizontal or vertical retrace. One version provides (in the right overscan portion of the picture), a checker pattern of alternating gray and black areas which causes the TV set on which the illegal copy is played to horizontally retrace earlier than normal in selected lines with a consequential horizontal shift of the picture information on those lines. This substantially degrades picture viewability. In another version a gray pattern at the bottom overscan portion of the picture causes vertical picture instability.

  • Patent number: 7319755
Abstract: An image altering apparatus which provides confidential viewing of a video display by means of time multiplexing the fundamental display image with a color-inverted image thereof on a pixel-by-pixel basis. Electronic circuitry and/or software are utilized to modify the fundamental image signal by time multiplexing its color data components with corresponding inverse color data components to generate a compound image signal which is representative of a substantially featureless image. Different multiplexing sequences of color data components and inverse color data components may be utilized at varying duty cycles to generate a compound image which is highly confidential and secure from unauthorized viewing.

  • Patent number: 7006632
Abstract: A self-authenticating check authorization system and method includes a check that has standard bank and account information printed on the MICR line, as well as a one-way hash value that is computed based on the standard bank and account information as well as a personal identification code of a customer. The scanned MICR line data is provided to a check verifier, which also receives the personal identification code from the customer. The check verifier performs a hashing algorithm on the received data, and compares the computed hash value to a hash value obtained from the scanned MICR line data. If there is a match, the check is verified; if not, the check is not verified.

  • Patent number: 6836844
Abstract: An information signal copy managing method for properly protecting the copyright of information signals and, at the same time, guaranteeing user advantages in copying information signals within a limited range. Information indicative of the start and end of each piece of information content covered by copyright is superimposed thereon as electronic watermark information. The resultant information signal is transmitted. When the received information signal is copied, both the information indicative of the start of the information content and the information indicative of the end thereof are detected from the electronic watermark information, determining the completion of copying. Thus, copying of information content is managed.

  • Publication number: 20020118834
Abstract: A system and method for maintaining privacy in transmission of a high bandwidth analog signal. A preferred system and method breaks an input signal into bands and then uses Walsh codes to overlay many signals on top of each other with a set of phase modulators to establish scrambling of the input signal. The scrambled signal is then transmitted. The received scrambled signal has the phase modulation removed and an inverse Walsh transform recovers the original bands. The recovered bands are added together to recover the original signal. The system and method use techniques that establish synchronization and phase coherency complete the process.

  • Patent number: 6091822
Abstract: A technique is disclosed for preventing unauthorized playback of scrambled video/audio signals recorded on, for example, a video tape cassette, which technique includes several cooperating processes and apparatus which further prevent the playback of recorded video/audio when the playback apparatus is in a still or pause mode of operation. The technique includes selected combinations of processes of inverting and re-clamping the luminance component of the video signal just prior to FM modulation; blanking an overscan portion, or portions, of the video signal and adding a video retrace signal to the overscan portion(s); inverting the normal control track signal and position modulating the normally unused edge; and selectively scrambling the audio signal and recording the scrambled audio signal in an audio track or in a Hi-Fi track. A selected user specific authorization code is recording in and recovered from the audio track.
