The portable electronic device may further include a display at least partially within the housing, a front cover positioned in the opening in the housing and over the display, the front cover defining a front surface, a peripheral side surface extending from the front surface and at least partially surrounded by the wall of the housing, and a notch that, together with a portion of the wall of the housing, defines an acoustic port of the portable electronic device. The electronic device may further include an acoustic port cover positioned at least partially in the acoustic port and a speaker at least partially within the housing and configured to direct sound through the acoustic port cover.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a phone shell with a built-in screen protector including a front cover and a back cover. A phone body is wrapped between the front cover and the back cover. A top portion of a front cover frame is provided with a recessed groove, a side wall of a back cover frame extends upward, its top portion is folded inward, and a second flange extending downward is also included. When the front cover is snap-fitted with the back cover, the second flange is inserted into the recessed groove. The front cover frame and a screen protector are integrally molded through plastic injection, preventing the screen protector from falling off.

The rear part of the enclosure defining the rear volume is formed of an acoustic metamaterial that defines a plurality of channels within the rear volume, where the number and dimensions of the channels is configured to virtual increase the rear volume to amplify a bass portion of sound produced by the speaker. In addition, the channels may be configured to match an impedance of the front volume to serve as an absorber for high frequency audio.

A first microphone (e.g., a main microphone) is ported to the outside of the camera and captures the desired external audio signal, but may also capture undesired vibrational noise. A second microphone has a similar structure to the first microphone, but is not ported to the outside of the camera. Instead, the second microphone is ported into an enclosed cavity (e.g., 1-2 cubic centimeters in volume). The second microphone may pick up the same vibration excitation and internal acoustic noise as the first microphone but very little of the desired external acoustic sounds around the camera. The unwanted noise can then be removed by subtracting the second audio signal from the second microphone from the main audio signal from the main microphone.

Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a wireless audio speaker module configured to play music at a volume level that will not disturb those nearby, based on adapting a wireless audio speaker to be retained within headgear, adjusting the volume of sound emitted by the speaker to a level that will not disturb those nearby, and amplifying the speaker sound as a function of the headgear interior reflecting the sound emitted by the speaker to the user's ear. In an illustrative example, an airgap may be configured between the speaker and the headgear user's ear. In various embodiments, the sound volume emitted by the speaker may be adjusted to avoid disturbing those nearby. In some examples, the headgear may be a hardhat, advantageously configured with a wireless audio speaker module to permit construction workers to listen to music amplified by reflection within their hardhats without disturbing or distracting each other.
