Plural Diaphragms, Compartments, Or Housings Patents (Class 381/335)
  • Patent number: 11800291
Abstract: The present invention provides a microspeaker having a water drainage structure capable of rapidly discharging water, entering the microspeaker, to the outside. In the case of a woofer-tweeter speaker, water is discharged through the side and bottom of a housing, and in the case of a 1-way speaker, water is discharged through the side of a housing. In addition, the present invention provides a connection portion that is formed to position a plurality of soldering points, to which a woofer wire and a tweeter wire are bonded, not outside a driver but inside or at the boundary of a space formed by the driver in a TWS-type 2-way microspeaker. This secures design freedom and save space by reducing the overall length of a small speaker.

  • Patent number: 9014408
Abstract: A subwoofer (10) structure comprised of a transducer (30) located in a loudspeaker enclosure (11), an acoustic duct (21) expanding in a horn-like manner, a frontal chamber (40) and an aperture (22). A sound wave emanating from the transducer is conveyed via the acoustic duct portion expanding in a horn-like manner to the frontal chamber, and a sound wave emanating from the opposite side of the transducer is conveyed either to a closed space (20) or directly to the frontal chamber. The subwoofer can be adjusted without altering the external dimensions of the loudspeaker enclosure, utilising the entire volume of the loudspeaker enclosure, so that the frontal chamber is tuned by altering the size of the frontal chamber and/or the size of the aperture in the frontal chamber.

  • Patent number: 9008343
Abstract: An annular diaphragm compression driver for electro-acoustic conversion has an annular diaphragm, which bears a moving coil, and a compression driver housing with a closed housing base. Opposite the housing base is a sound wave routing element having a sound discharge channel. The compression driver also has an annular magnet system unit, which has an annular magnet gap (M) and a compression chamber, adjoining the magnet gap (M), for the annular diaphragm. The open exit end of the sound discharge channel is in slot form and its entry start is annular. The sound path between the compression chamber and the entry start contains an annular collecting space. The collecting space and the sound discharge channel contain a central sound guidance body having a portion which merges to match the slot-like exit end. The sound discharge channel is formed between the sound guidance body and the sound wave routing element.

Abstract: A speaker includes a housing and four substantially similar electro-acoustic drivers secured inside the housing. The drivers are driven by substantially the same audio signal and are arranged such that the net mechanical vibrational force between the drivers and the housing is substantially zero. Four substantially similar passive radiators are secured inside the housing and driven by acoustic energy from the four drivers. The passive radiators are arranged such that the net mechanical vibrational force between the passive radiators and the housing is substantially zero.

  • Patent number: 8934653
Abstract: The present invention relates to a speaker housing having a rhomboid geometric shape. The rhomboid shape is a polyhedron with six faces, each of which is a parallelogram. The opposite sides of each parallelogram are substantially equal in length and their adjacent angles are substantially supplementary. The rhomboid shape of the speaker housing allows the listener to position the speakers in order to optimize the trajectory of the driver in a variety of listening situations, providing an accurate and optimized response for the listener. The rhomboid shape of the speaker housing and the utilization of point source, coaxial, dual concentric, triaxial, tri-concentric or other multi-concentric driver configurations and/or single driver loudspeaker driver technologies in the speaker can create a unique performance and functionality to this design.

  • Patent number: 8873787
Abstract: A speaker arrangement comprises a first sound transducer (101) for reproducing sound in a lower frequency range and having a first on-axis direction and a first center point. The arrangement further comprises a second sound transducer (103) for reproducing sound in a higher frequency range, the second sound transducer (103) being mounted in front of the first sound transducer and having a second on-axis direction and a second center point. The transducers are positioned such that an angle between the first on-axis direction and the second on-axis direction is between 45° and 135°, and such that the distance between the first center point and the second center point is not higher than a cross-over wavelength corresponding to the cross-over frequency. The cross-over frequency between the lower frequency range and the higher frequency range is selected to be within the interval from 1.5 kHz to 3 kHz. An improved point source approximation may be achieved.

  • Patent number: 8837763
Abstract: An inertially balanced miniature passive radiator full-range loudspeaker system is disclosed. In one embodiment the speaker system is a two-way system with low and high frequency components, where the low-frequency component is comprised of one active transducer and two passive radiators and the frequency range for this component is not outside of 10 Hz to 500 Hz. The low and high frequency components are individually optimized for operation in low and high frequency ranges respectively. By placing the passive radiators on opposing sides of an enclosure of the speaker system, the momentum generated by the motion of each of the passive radiators substantially cancels when the passive radiators are in phase. A passive radiators may be fitted with a voice-coil electrically connected to a corresponding voice-coil on the other passive radiator in a pair such that the generated back EMF resists out of phase motion of the passive radiators.
