  • Patent number: 11800289
Abstract: Disclosed is a sound generator, including a bracket, and a vibration system and a magnetic circuit system. The vibration system includes a first vibration diaphragm, s a second vibration diaphragm, a first voice coil driving the first vibration diaphragm, and a second voice coil driving the second vibration diaphragm. The magnetic circuit system includes an iron core, a magnet assembly, and a magnetic frame. The first voice coil is disposed between the magnetic frame and the magnet assembly, and the second voice coil is disposed between the magnet assembly and the iron core. Therefore, two magnetic circuit structures are provided in the same magnetic frame space and drive the first vibration diaphragm and the second vibration diaphragm to vibrate and generate sound in different directions respectively, which improves the utilization efficiency of the magnetic circuit system while saving space, thereby improving the sound generation performance of the sound generator.

  • Patent number: 10715921
Abstract: Sound emanating from the high-frequency diaphragm of a coaxial speaker will diffract into the annular gap between the tweeter unit and the midrange cone. This results in response irregularities. We therefore disclose a loudspeaker, comprising first and second drivers located substantially coaxially with the first driver located centrally and the second driver located concentrically around the first driver, the loudspeaker being bounded at its radially outer side for at least part of its extent by the voice coil former of the second driver and including a spacing between the outermost extent of the first driver and the innermost extent of the second driver thus defining an annular space, the annular space containing a sound-absorbent material. By placing the sound-absorbing material in the annular space, the resonances within this space are damped, thus alleviating their effect. The annular space can have a lower resonant frequency that is below the passband of the first driver.

  • Patent number: 8953830
Abstract: A horn loudspeaker, in particular for reproducing bass sound in public address systems, in which the horn (23) is mounted directly to the driver element (21) without any intervening compression chamber. The back side of the driver element (21) is covered by a back chamber (24) designed with walls of a semi-permeable material. The walls may be perforated or made of a “leaky” material such as cell foam with open structure, or a fibrous material. The “leaky” back chamber will prevent the build up of high pressures in the back chamber at large cone excursions. The horn loudspeaker is suitable for stacking in groups of two or more, so as to produce a sound source scalable for reproducing any frequency range heard by humans in public address systems or hi-fi systems. Due to the back chamber design, the horn loudspeaker, for high frequencies especially in conical horn shaped versions, can be stacked close together.

  • Patent number: 8098854
Abstract: A speaker module for a personal communication device includes two transducers for generating sound on the basis of an electrical signal. One transducer outputs sound to the surroundings from a sound output thereof and the other transducer outputs sound to the surroundings via the first transducer. In this manner, two transducers require only one sound output. The sound from the second transducer may be transmitted through and filtered by an opening in a diaphragm of the first transducer. Filtering elements may be provided between the two transducers.

  • Patent number: 8066095
Abstract: A compact bass speaker cabinet uses a long, narrow, tapered waveguide that acts as does a small radial portion of the air outside a large pulsating sphere, and has the same bass response as the large pulsating sphere. The smaller end is closed and the longer end is open. In one embodiment the inside of the waveguide is a rectangle about an inch thick and substantially as wide as the speaker or speakers that are mounted on the wider surface close to or slightly overlapping the closed end; and the inside surfaces are tapered so that they meet at a point which lies beyond the closed end by a distance equal to the radian wavelength of the longest sound wave that is to be produced.

  • Patent number: 7970158
Abstract: A long and narrow loudspeaker on an entire wall gives off a cylindrical wave, which covers the entire room. Extra loudspeakers fixed at an angle against the wall will be heard in another direction, producing angle stereo independent of where one is in the room. Electro-dynamic loudspeakers are made of long plates of iron with air gapes between them where magnetic fields are produced. In the air gaps are strips, which conduct the sound currents. The strips influence directly one or more membranes. The magnetic field can be produced by permanent magnets, electromagnets or through concentration of geomagnetic fields. Long loudspeakers, which use other forces such as electrostatic forces, only need to be made for small sound pressure at the membrane.

  • Patent number: 7920712
Abstract: A loudspeaker is provided for receiving an electrical signal and transmitting an acoustic signal through a transmission medium. The system includes generally two elements: a coaxial transducer and an acoustic transformer. The coaxial transducer includes a high-frequency driver and a mid-frequency driver that are coaxially arranged. The acoustic transformer is acoustically coupled to the coaxial transducer and includes an initial horn section that expands from a first end to a second end in a direction away from the coaxial transducer. The initial horn section defines a plurality of openings therethrough, such that the initial horn section is acoustically opaque to high-frequency acoustic signals to thereby function as a waveguide for the high-frequency acoustic signals, while it is acoustically transparent to mid-frequency acoustic signals.

  • Patent number: 7837006
Abstract: The sound generating and transmitting apparatus is based on a radiator including at least a first, and possibly two or more, shaped reflecting surface(s) having a forward radiant axis. Each of the shaped reflecting surfaces defines sets of equivalent acoustic input locations, with each set being a ring of non-zero circumference centered on the forward radiant axis. The sound source is a distributed, functionally continuous sound source adapted to exploit this feature. In its preferred form the sound source is a sort of closed line array of loudspeakers providing a torodial shaped acoustic source to direct at the hyperbolic cone, the transducers being disposed in a circle with all of the loudspeakers oriented inwardly toward or outwardly from the forward radiant axis.
