Multiple Voice Coils Patents (Class 381/401)
  • Patent number: 6956953
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a diaphragmatic (planar) electroacoustic transducer that forms a complete sound radiating transducer and provides high efficiency and linearity. The diaphragm is easily exchangeable and rectangular in shape, and may be made of very thin polyamide film with a plurality of aluminum conductors formed on one side of the diaphragm. The plurality of conductors form two identical and symmetrical coils such that conductors of each coil are interlaced. The two sections of the coils are disposed in dense air-gaps of the magnet system, which comprises a plurality of high (BHmax) Neodymium magnets. The binary interlaced coils can be utilized in a number of modes, for the purpose of accomplishing a variety of operating modes.

Abstract: Sound input to a microphone is converted into an electrical signal and the electrical signal is amplified by an amplifier. The amplified electrical signal is supplied to a primary coil as an alternating current. Thus, a magnetic field around the primary coil varies with time and a secondary coil generates an induced electromotive force. A vibrating coil is supplied with current generated by the induced electromotive force and thus an induced magnetic field is generated around the vibrating coil. The vibrating coil provided on the surface of an eardrum is vibrated by interaction between the induced magnetic field and a magnetostatic field generated by a permanent magnet.

Abstract: A speaker interconnection block with two voice coils to be driven with separate amplifiers, or to use one amplifier to drive the two voice coils in series or parallel without having to reinterconnect the voice coils. This is achieved by locating the negative voice coil terminals next to each other and the positive voice terminals next to each other on the connection block. When two amplifiers are used to drive the voice coils, the sequence of connections of the amplifiers matches those of the voice coils mentioned above. When only one amplifier is used, that amplifier is connected between the two amplifier terminals farthest from each other. To connect the voice coils in series a single jumper is used to interconnect the two terminals in the center, and for parallel connection two jumpers are used to connect to two terminals at the ends of the sequence together separately.

  • Patent number: 6421449
Abstract: A speaker having a voice coil bobbin wound around with the voice coil and a detection coil together. The detection coil is formed by a wire whose diameter is smaller than one fourth of that of the wire used for the voice coil, and wound in a space among the voice coil wires. In another example, the voice coil and the detection coil are formed using a flat type wire. In a speaker made in accordance with the present invention, the outer diameter of the whole coil structure containing a voice coil and a detection coil does not increase; as a result, decrement of the magnetic flux density in magnetic gap does not occur. Thus, the signals that proportionately represent the speaker vibration are made available without inviting deterioration in the efficiency of a speaker, nor an increased Q0.

  • Patent number: 6404896
Abstract: In the electric-acoustic transducer, first to third permanent magnets are respectively received in the first to the third recesses of a yoke, so as to generate non-alternating magnetic fields. The first and second magnetic gaps are formed between the yoke and the first and the second plates. The first and the second coils are respectively disposed in the first and the second magnetic gaps, to generate alternating magnetic fields of the same phase, when an electric driving signal is applied from the exterior. The electric-acoustic transducer achieves reproduction of a broad frequency band with high power and high efficiency, even with an ultra slim or small dimension, proper for a small electronic appliance such as a notebook computer, by employing dual voice coil drivers and auxiliary magnetic circuits.

Abstract: An electro-mechanical-audio converter and an electro-mechanical-audio converting device using the same employed in mobile terminals such as mobile phones for generating paging vibration which realizes stable vibration function. The electro-mechanical-audio converter includes a housing (1a), movable part (2), forming a magnetic circuit, mounted on an opening of the housing (1a) through a suspension (3); and a detection coil (11) disposed near the movable part (2) for generating excitation voltage by vibration of the movable part (2). Strong vibration of the movable part (2) during resonance is detected by the detection coil (11) as an excitation voltage, and fed back. Accordingly, the electro-mechanical-audio converter and electro-mechanical-audio converting device using the same having an extremely stable vibration function, even when resonance frequency changes due to environmental changes such as ambient temperature, is made feasible.
