Abstract: Exemplary method, system, and computer-accessible medium can be provided for determining a measure of diffusional kurtosis by receiving data relating to at least one diffusion weighted image, and determining a measure of a diffusional kurtosis as a function of the received data using a closed form solution procedure. In accordance with certain exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, provided herein are computer-accessible medium, systems and methods for, e.g., imaging in an MRI system, and, more particularly for facilitating estimation of tensors and tensor-derived measures in diffusional kurtosis imaging (DKI). For example, DKI can facilitate a characterization of non-Gaussian diffusion of water molecules in biological tissues. The diffusion and kurtosis tensors parameterizing the DKI model can typically be estimated via unconstrained least squares (LS) methods.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a pattern inspection apparatus includes a first inspection data creation section, a first delay section, a first recognition section, a first extraction section, a first and a second level difference calculation section, a first and a second determination section, and a first logic OR calculation section. The first extraction section extracts data of a sub-resolution pattern from the first inspection data and the first delay data. The first and second level difference calculation section calculate differences between an average output level of a surrounding region for a target pixel of the extracted data from the first inspection data or the first delay data and an output level of the extracted data. The first and second determination sections determine presence or absence of a defect. The first logic OR calculation section calculates logic OR of determination results of the first and second determination sections.

  • Patent number: 8755837
Abstract: Cell phones and other portable devices are equipped with a variety of technologies by which existing functionality can be improved, and new functionality can be provided. Some aspects relate to data driven imaging architectures, in which a cell phone's image sensor is one in a chain of stages that successively act on packetized instructions/data, to capture and later process imagery. Other aspects relate to distribution of processing tasks between the device and remote resources (“the cloud”). Elemental image processing, such as filtering and edge detection—and even some simpler template matching operations—may be performed on the cell phone. Other operations are referred out to remote service providers. The remote service providers can be identified using techniques such as a reverse auction, though which they compete for processing tasks. Other aspects of the disclosed technologies relate to visual search capabilities, and determining appropriate actions responsive to different image inputs.

  • Patent number: 8755604
Abstract: A system and method may include a processor that groups the glyphs of a document into font character models. OCR processing may be performed to identify the ASCII value of the font character models, with the results mapped to the glyphs contained with those models, thereby identifying the text of the original document. This results in fewer calls to an OCR engine, thereby providing a significant speedup. Further, when a model is assigned differing text values by the OCR engine, the system and method may identify the value most likely to be correct, thereby improving the accuracy of the output text.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a structure and a method for determining a defect in integrated circuit manufacturing process. Test keys are designed for the structure to be the interlaced arrays of grounded and floating conductive cylinders, and the microscopic image can be predicted to be an interlaced pattern of bright voltage contrast (BVC) and dark voltage contrast (DVC) signals for a charged particle beam imaging system. The system can detect the defects by comparing patterns of the detected VC signals and the predicted VC signals.

Abstract: A metadata extraction machine accesses an image that depicts an item and identifies an attribute of the item and a descriptor that specifies a value for the identified attribute. The machine identifies the attribute and the descriptor based on an analysis of the accessed image that includes distinguishing a foreground portion of the image from a background portion of the image. Distinguishing a foreground portion from the background portion may include segmenting the image to identify the foreground and background portions. Some or all of the analysis may be performed by the machine. The machine then stores the identified descriptor of the item as metadata of the item.
